mcpapa Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Kind of surprised I didn't see a thread on this. Maybe Holmes-Scott has captivated everyone's attention.
16thBBall Fan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Isn't this kind of an upset if not Connor winning but by 15. Just wondering had not heard much about Connor.
Eta Rho Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 This is a solid win for Conner. Highlands is ranked in the top 20 in several polls. Any details?
AirYardGo Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Great win for the Cougars. I didn't expect to see this one. Solid win!
Nkysportsblog Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Conner is looking like a very dangerous team as of late. They already played Holmes tough once. They could really be a sleeper come tourney time.
Qryche11 Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 This is not as surprising as some are saying. Conner is well coached and usually gets better as the year progresses. Playing this game at 3pm on a Sat afternoon in probably an empty gym probably makes it tough to get excited. I dont know what the details of the game were but congrats to the Cougars.
bigmarc78 Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Good win for Conner. I didn't see that coming, but Highlands is so unpredictable you never know which team will show up. Conner played well against Holmes but that is the only time I have seen them play, guess they are better than I had thought.
bigmarc78 Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 If anyone was there, what was the difference between this game and the last game???? That is like a 20 point swing in a week and a half. Conner has lost to Ryle twice (once by 27) this year but has beat Highlands (and lost to highlands) and played Holmes well. Are they that sparadic?
4pointplay Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Good win for Conner. Northern Kentucky basketball is still as unpredictable as ever heading into the home stretch.
9thregionbb Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Good win for Conner, hopefully they can build off this win.
Eta Rho Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 From nky.com: Conner 71, Highlands 56: Demetrius Avery scored 16 points to lead the Cougars, the No. 8 team in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll. Stephen Kowolonek had 11 points for the No. 2 Bluebirds. http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20090201/SPT0302/902010438/
Guest Birdflu Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I have been saying it all along, Highlands is just very inconsistent. They have the potential of beating or losing to anyone.
AirYardGo Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I have been saying it all along, Highlands is just very inconsistent. They have the potential of beating or losing to anyone. I agree. Conner is really looking like a solid team. The ninth is officially wide open!
gametime Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Both teams are very young, so some inconsistency isn't a shock...
