About what most expected, I'd guess.

Holmes- 19 17 16 6- 58

Cooper- 9 4 2 5- 20

First quarter Cooper actually hung tough with Holmes for the first 4 minutes. At the 4 minute mark Pittman made a basket and got the and one to give Holmes a 8-5 lead and they cruised from there. Pittman scored 10 in the first quarter and then went to the bench, not to return again until the first 30 second of the third quarter. Same with Rico, Riley, D. Johnson, and JJ.

Henley played Slusher, Arnold, Housely, Rice, and Herndon the whole second quarter.

Start of the third period Holmes scored 4 points in the first 30 seconds with the starters in, highlighted by a break away one hand tomahawk dunk by Pittman. After this all starters went to the bench for the rest of the game and Henley substituted the same lineup in as the second quarter. With 3 minutes left in the third quarter Holmes put their last 5 on the bench in and they played the rest of the game.

Congrats to 8th grader Christian Mcclendon who got his first two varsity points tonight.

Pittman led all scorers with 12 points.

Cooper has a few solid players in #31 and #25 Rabie (sp?).

As I said up in the PRP thread this show a lot of class by the coaches at Holmes. Hey they could have run up the score and scored over 100 and moved up in the Cantrell ratings.:rolleyes:

Yea, thats about what I anticipated. I didn't think Henley would give the big dogs to much time tonight, especially with an afternoon matchup vs Scott in less than 24 hours.

Well done Coach Henley, Coach Sullivan and the players on both teams.

I'd say the starters played less than a full quarter tonight. Henley subbed freely with his first 7 throughout the first quarter.

Glad some teams around the state actually have class and don't try running up the score.

Kudos to Coach Henley. I honestly don't think he got off the bench one time tonight other than during timeouts called by Coach Sully. Henley also slowed the game down in the fourth and had the JV just running the offense to get them work.

Agreed. I have been on the sad end of a lopsided game before, its no fun. I have also been on the good side of some too and that is also no fun. I like the way he let the young guys get some work in and didn't let it get to out of hand.

I agree. It's much easier to respect a team who doesn't care about margin of victory but rather just getting a W and getting their players better.

Coach Henley showed a lot of class by not running-up the score and playing his reserves most of the game. He knew he had the win and didn't need to beat them by 50 to show it. Good job Coach Henley!!!!!!!

When and where was this game played?

It was played at Holmes. There was a lot of respect shown on both sides, from the coaches.:notworthy:

I saw on the news all Boone County after school activities were cancled. I did not see another Boone County school play. I know the roads are better, but from a educational stand, those schools (Boone County) were out all 5 days this week and they played basketball on a Friday night?

Apparently.

I know Kenton County schools did not play if they had to travel.
