I agree with you for the teams In the tournament. But I'm wondering about Bowling Green. Seems to me if you shut down Sine and Taylor they are a different team?

Can somebody from the purples give us some insight? I am curious to hear this mighty roster that can't be beat. There are teams in the tournament that Elliott will and cannot compete with that I have seen play. I'm just curious. Do you think size will be a key or guard play? Does one player stand out above the rest? Are they great team players that include everybody? Are they holding opponents to under 50% field goals? Easy to say; they will win and by a lot....

No, then the opinions of larger populations would always want to rule. Always putting the lower and less enrolled schools at a disadvantage. I can hear it know, this region plays tougher competition so they must be better. Their athletic budget allows them to play bigger and better outside competition, which means they must be ranked higher. It fair and honest. Win and advance. It's that simple.

Glad that we play the games. Not saying Elliott will win but it will not be a blow out. Don't under estimate any team at March. One poster was wondering if Mason County was gonna win the state tournament before region and a couple thought Ballard had already punched their ticket, etc. Don't be so quick to assume. Couldn't agree more. Playing to loose in the 2nd half. It was a nice win for the Lions. Porter had foul trouble early which played somewhat of a role in the first half. So many stepped up for the Lions. Johnathon sloas did a great job coming off the bench. Holbrook made some big plays down the stretch and the 8th grader Spencer is special. Really gritty kid for his first year on the big stage. Bright future!! Also the twins handled vikings press with ease. Great team win.

Let's hear thoughts? I said before the regional tournament that this would be a great scenerio and now it's happened. Can anybody say, "WAR"!!! Gonna be a good one for the 5th time.

Or even better a Elliott VS Morgan county region title for the 5th time this year. If you wasn't at the game last night to feel the electricity then you should have. Would be another slug fest!! Ashland will give Morgan all they can handle with Elliott earning the highest respect with their road. Draw couldn't have worked out better for Morgan with them sitting back looking at all the favorites taking each other out. Gonna be a good tourney. Just wish Lewis would have made it and it would have been complete.

Shelby Valley had a little easier road to the finals rather than Elliott's road last year. And IMO Elliott beat a better Shelby Valley team last year when it counted in the State Tournament. Put Shelby Valley in the bottom bracket last year and the top bracket this year and I think you have a different outcome. But Shelby Valley is State Champions and that is something that they can never take away from those young men, they deserve all the recognition they get.

I mean make it during tourney time or something because the game has come a long way since glass backboards. It would be another helping tool in preparing kids for college ball as well.

When was the last Eastern Kentucky boy to sign on the dotted line for the Cats? Just asking a question, was it John at Paintsville.

What do you guys think? I believe that a 45 second shot clock wouldn't hurt the game at this level.

This is going to be a tough game with Fairview having the advantages in the 2 and 3 spots; what killed Elliott the first time. So if they can contain 30 from making threes then Elliott wins by 6; due in part to the recent struggles of Fairview pre tourny. Elliott 68 Fairview 62

Good win for the Lions, they got a tough one Saturday.

Elliott wins by a convincing margin. I think that they have the best possible case scenario since losing the district by drawing probably the worse team in it and it Rowan can knock off Fairview (I wouldn't be surprised) then it should be a rematch in the finals with East. They have a good shot the Region is wide open for the first time in a long time and it is anybody's to win.

Because there is no student body at Elliott they only have grown ups. Elliott has a student body of about 250 students in a rural community while economic hardships are happening all around us; somebody has to act little crazy .

He will not be in the running for Mr. Basketball until next year, IMO.

WOW! Really a gutsy performance by the Lions and Timmy Knipp. Maybe this will put the critics to rest a little of Knipp for a while, and maybe a turning point for the Lions as a contender. Makes the 16th Region tournament a little that much better; can't wait. How many shots did Timmy take; my guess is that it was a pretty impressive shooting performance by Knipp. Go Lions! :dancingpa

Final score! Timmy knipp had 35 tonight and very nice overall TEAM BALL game from the Lions, don't have the stats of the others but Ison had a double-double. Nice win for the Lions and IMO opinion, Ashland is a little overrated but they are still a nice ball club that can compete. Go Lions!!

Knew that GRC would beat Ashland without much problems but i am a little surprised by how much. What does this say about the 16th Regions supposedly best team(In some newspapers minds)?
