Seen both teams play and the way Shelby Valley has struggled in the first couple of quarters lately I will go with Mason. Would like to see Valley win to get the rematch with Elliott but I don't think they can compete with the strengths of Mason's big men and outside shooting. Mason 75 Valley 68

He did go to a school in Kentucky and it seems that somebody that we used to know is pretty good about getting that type of talent to buy into his system.

I have watched a lot of high school basketball and have seen all the in state recruits and I think they are good players but not what we need at Kentucky. I would like to see him at some schools like Holmes(johnson and pittman), Elliott County(Knipp or Evan), Scott County (Jackson not Euton), and many other schools in the State that posses the talent we need; look at Preston Noels, we can't miss out on kids like that along with many many others. The reason I like Ford and Phelphrey is because they now that it has to start with in state pride to put UK back on the map, both of those schools are on the radar for every big time player in Kentucky. Billy might need a couple more years or whatever but I question his ability to earn the players and fans respect. This isn’t Texas where you can fly under the radar and Basketball is something to stay in shape for football, it is a state where we expect to win and we do put high expectations on a coach because we want and expect you to win; that's why we have had only 5 or 6 coaches in the last 75 years. I just don't understand the hiring of someone with 2 DUI'S, single, and not even a clue to the realm of big blue nation.

If you can't help from being blown out in the semis of the regional tournament, is that really Elliott's fault. I think that both teams prospered from their experiences because Elliott needs the game time experience for Rupp and Ashland needs the future experience for their young group. It looked like to me that the coach was molding into their heads that this is where we want to be and we will not quit and get all the future experience that we can. Elliott benefits because they are getting ready to have the toughest test in their careers and need all the game time experience that they can get. Where and when are the kids from Ashland going to get that type of experience in practice? Elliott is the best team this area has seen in a long time and we all know it, so why not make some positives out of what you already know will be negative.

They also have a week and a half to save their legs.

Getting ready to leave for the game and just got word that Timmy Knip will not be playing tonight. The source that told me this said that they didn't know if he would dress tonight or not, but he will not play if not needed.

When is this game going to be played?

I thought that it was pretty cool how they set up the ladder and everyone was just standing around talking. They expect more and are hungry for something bigger than a district title (which is an accomplishment for any school), I think that it shows where they are as a team. When you know you are suppose to be there and expected to win, your expectations must go farther toward the bigger picture.

Elliott will win this one by 30+; will dominate start to finish. Go Lions!

Didn't Billman call both technical fouls on Ferg these past couple of games. I could be wrong; but I agree with Dale, Billman seems like he makes calls sometimes through emotions instead of experience as a ref IMO.

Alan Short was the QB; Dontae was the following year in 2000( I think that is what you are refering too). The hook and ladder was in the Con-Air bowl which was an awesome game. Also the hook and ladder against Fleming was also an awesome play that I will never forget. Remember the fight after this game, it was so muddy that nobody could stand up and was probably 20 people evolved. I will never forget I think it was Dwayne (don't know his last name) hanging off the goal post. It was an awesome night and I will never forget it. :ylsuper: Also, Dontae and West were only 8th graders; their freshman year wasn't until 98-99; neither saw significant action until sophomore years. West started one game I believe as a freshman at defensive back and played late in JV games, Dontae played special teams and late in JV games as well.

Great win for the Lions. Many of posters have pointed out many good points about a win is a win. That registers for this game great because we knew coming into this game that Elliott would be in a dog fight and BIG hats off to East Carter because they have a great team. I was at the game and seen many many blown calls but I have to agree with the majority and say that it had NO affect what so ever on the outcome; both teams had their chances to win that game and Elliott proved to be the best team. You would think that ferg being the all-time 16th region scorer would get it but you really can't go wrong with any of the choice's of Elliott's top 3.

Lets not get to ahead of ourselves; they got a long way to go to do the unthinkable. I will be along for the ride if they do and can't wait.
