Cards looking better each game. Very unselfish play, with 18 assists. So glad to see Bopper Stenzel finally make it to the hardwood this year. He has been out all season with a knee injury. Vancleve came in off the bench and had a great game. Daniels also looked very good tonight on both ends of the court.

No don't think so, Cards are just playing great ball right now. Our JV played most of 3rd quarter and all of 4th.

Looks like Scott Humphrey's team showed no mercy to his old rival from his playing days. Maybe if Ashland would have eased up on Russell a few weeks ago they would have fared better. :-)

 

In all seriousness, Ashland is still one of the best teams in the 16th region, but it doesn't look like the 16th region compares to the 10th.

 

To answer your question about when the last time Ashland lost by 40 was...it was last season. They lost to Shelby Valley by 43.

Basically the same thing it has been saying for the past several years. The 16th Region just isn't very good.

Didn't Elliott County do well the past couple of years? Didn't they go deep into the Sweet Sixteen tournament?

I think the next few weeks will show how well the tough schedule they have played will pay off. The match up with Scott County will be a good test to see how far they have come since Christmas.
