Can someone update the site on the game tonight, at least quarter scores?

Looks like the Indians are struggling to make shots through 3 quarters, 8 of 27 from 3.

That's exactly why I assumed Ryle tried to zone Dixie creating easy 3s. In the past coach Chevalier lived and died with the 3 and I hope that he isn't starting to lean back in that direction. He has the horses inside and out to win a regional but too often relying on the 3 can spell doom for you come tournament time. Once again based on recent scores in the 9th region it is setting up for a very exciting post season.

Really I am surprised. I guess that shows why coach Mullins plays a lot of zone, they apparently are not quick enough to play man. Who was tasked with guarding Hatton? The Perkins boy is a real hustler and I would expect him to try to play Hatton in a man-to-man scenario.

I am curious since I was not at the game. What kind of defense did Ryle deploy against the red Colonels? Pike only scored 2 points and Hatton went off for 31? This would make me think that they went with zone defenses?? I know Ryle likes to play zone and keep the score down but obviously they couldn't do that when down 20 + points.

I can't see it any other way. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Ryle win tonight over Dixie either.

Not surprised by this. Holmes has trouble with Boone County and especially at their place. A lot like when they play Ryle.

On the radio or on the internet? Did you have to load any special player or anything? I am using Windows 7.

It is really frustrating when they advertise that they will broadcast the game on the internet and then the broadcast is never able to be received by people. I keep having to reload the site over and over and never get more than about 10 seconds of broadcast.

Any chance you can update the site at the quarters?

Nobody was criticizing him just stating a fact that he did that on the broadcast. I agree with you on their rooting for their home team but few broadcasters would apologize for doing that at the high school level.

Does GRC want to get in an uptempo game with the Bruins? While the Bruins like to knock down the 3s they also put up a lot of points which means they get out in transition and get a lot of easy buckets. They come in averaging 85.3 points per game while giving up 67.8 which is right near what GRC scores @ 65.8 per game. Somehow I don't see GRC holding Ballard to the 52.2 that they give up defensively. Ballard's lowest output was 63 in a loss to Eastern in the LIT championship game, (63-71). GRC will need to take care of the ball and not allow the Bruins to get a lot of easy buckets. This should be a tremendous game to watch and should draw a huge crowd. This could be a preclude to the 2nd round state matchup should these teams both advance to the "Big show".

Gary did a real nice job last night on the broadcast. He tried really hard to not be objective and even apologized several times for rooting a bit. That has to be very hard for an announcer doing his alma mater's game and not wanting to root a little bit.

You never know what can happen in the small confines of Holy Cross gymnasium. Something about the place can change the way teams play and Holy Cross definitely has the homecourt edge there.

As much as I hate low scoring affairs it sounds like good coaching to me. If your opponent beat you by 41 in your previous contest you better find a different approach in the rematch. Does anyone know if it was a slowdown tactic? The last meeting was 79-38 Tates Creek.

Imo Conner can still make some noise in the district and regional tournaments, if coach Hicks can find a few guys to score the ball with some consistency. They have not been a good shooting team but maybe he is finding ways to get the right people the ball in good situations. I said it before and I'll say it again coaching will play a big part in the 9th region tournament this year. I think the coach that can make the right moves at the right times and put their teams in the best matchups can help get them to the finals and you never know what can happen in the big game. Look at last year's championship game. Who would have thought that Newport would blow Holmes out like they did.

Who wins this contest in Latonia on Saturday? Dixie comes in off a loss to Holmes and Holy Cross off a big win over Covington Catholic.
