#3 Ballard will travel to Winchester Wednesday night for a varsity game only to take on #4 GRC. Your thoughts and predictions.

This game is going to tell a lot about GRC and they head down the regular season stretch- coming off two big wins (with what many say that was a less than spectacular performance at the Fieldhouse), can they keep doing all the right things?

Look for a big game from Jayln Daniels as GRC wins by 5

I have not seen Ballard play this year but my husband watched them beat Lexington Catholic 89-76. He says they are very quick and play alot of players. They are young but when another ones comes in, they are as good as the one going out. They throw alot of people at you and like to get up and down the floor.

For GRC to win this game ,we will have to bring our "A" game. Also cannot let them set the style of game, make them play our game.

Does GRC want to get in an uptempo game with the Bruins? While the Bruins like to knock down the 3s they also put up a lot of points which means they get out in transition and get a lot of easy buckets. They come in averaging 85.3 points per game while giving up 67.8 which is right near what GRC scores @ 65.8 per game. Somehow I don't see GRC holding Ballard to the 52.2 that they give up defensively. Ballard's lowest output was 63 in a loss to Eastern in the LIT championship game, (63-71). GRC will need to take care of the ball and not allow the Bruins to get a lot of easy buckets. This should be a tremendous game to watch and should draw a huge crowd. This could be a preclude to the 2nd round state matchup should these teams both advance to the "Big show".

First bolded part, I don't think so. Second bolded part, GRC likes to do this too.

3rd bolded part, agree 100%.

Yes we expect a huge crowd at this game. With only a varsity game, you better get there early.

I'll take the experienced GRC by 5. Sometimes being a senior heavy team has it's advantages and I feel like this will pay off for the Cards in this game and the rest of the season!

I like GRC in this one.

I suspect thay are stronger than Ballard on the front line. There is one kid for Ballard who seems to be coming on strong - Danny Yackey - who is a superlative 3-point shooter. GRC should be sure to guard the 3-point area because B can really light it up. When I saw Eastern and Ballard play in the LIT (not against each other), I thought there was a drop off as B's subs came in (not so much with Eastern). B still remains quite young although one would hope they have some seasoning by now. How deep is GRC?

If last year's Ballard sqaud with their talent and experience couldn't win at GRC, then I don't think this years can. On a neutral floor, if Ballard hits over 30% from 3, they win.

They're pretty darn good for as young as they are so watch out GRC!

GRC goes eight deep with little drop off of talent, only skill sets. They are not super deep but have developed a nice rotation and any time a coach can adjust with eight players to match his opponents line up, winning is a little easier.

Oh I know they are why they are ranked higher than GRC....they should be the favorite ,dosn't matter how young they are.

It should be a good game, just want to see it so not going to pick a winner. I will say this, it is going to be a brutal 7 days for Ballard. They Play Christian Academy Tuesday, @GRC Wednesday, Eastern at home Friday, Holmes at home Saturday, then end the week next Tuesday @ Central.

No they should not be favored at GRC, should be a good one.

I agree. GRC should be able to win this game. I'll say it'll be another close one like last year though.
