Dogs will travel to Florence Monday night for a big 9th region game against the Rebels of Boone.

Holmes comes in 17-7 and on a 5 game winning streak after beating Beechwood 91-64.

Boone comes in 16-7 and is coming off a 88-67 win over Beechwood.

Thoughts?

Game will be featured on the radio on 1160 AM. KR Sports will call the action beginning with a pregame show at 7:10 PM.

Also can be heard over the internet @ http://www.realtalk1160.com.

This may be one of the best games in the 9th region this year. Holmes is legit and BC is legit to win the 9th this year.

The game will be close with Holmes pulling away in the 4th quarter.

Holmes by 6

Boone by 4 if Trevan Brown stays out of foul trouble.

This indeed will be one of the top match-ups of the season. ...speed vs size.

Does Boone have the ball handlers to handle the Holmes pressure? Can the Dogs shoot over the Boone zone?

Should be interesting to see how this one shakes out.

Boone's biggest problem will be getting the ball up the court against Holmes' full court press. If they try to dribble up the court, they will struggle. They need to bring one of the big guys down and throw over the press.

In the half court set, if Holmes attacks the seams of the zone defense they will get Boone in foul trouble because Boone's players are not quick enough to stop the penetration and Holmes will win. If Holmes settles for the outside shot they will get beat because the size of Boone will keep Holmes off the offensive boards.

Covcath and Dixie weren't able to keep Holmes off the offensive glass...I don't think Boone will be able to either. Holmes has enough athleticism to rebound with anyone in nky and almost anyone else in the state.

I think it comes down to style of play. No way Boone will be able to run with Holmes for 4 quarters. If they try, they're essentially taking their strength of Brown down low out of the equation. Kid is athletic but it'll be interesting to see if he can keep up if Holmes is out and running.

If Holmes continues to play like they have, I like the Dogs on the road. Will be a tough game though.

I'd expect to see the following match ups:

5'10 Palmer v 5'10 Stanley

6'0 Hayes v 5'10 Downs

6'2 Gray v 6'5 McQueary

6'2 Knox v 6'5 Brown

6'5 Rice v 6'8 Crabtree

Brown v Knox is going to be a war in the paint. (Someone correct me if the lineup for Boone and sizes are incorrect)

In the end, I'm going with the following:

Holmes- 68

Boone- 63

IMO this sums up the match-up for Holmes and Boone. Could see one come down to who hits shots from the foul line at the end.

The team that makes shots generally will do the other things well. Sure makes a coach look smarter when players shoot good and tends to keep Mom and Dad happy to. Pulling for Boone but I'll take Holmes by 11.

I've got a feeling this game stays in the 50s.

This would be to Boone's benefit imo. If the score gets to the mid to high 60's and beyond, it's a Holmes victory. Gray and Rice are playing very well right now. It will be imperative for Boone to not miss any blocking out assignments. Holmes will gut you on the offensive glass.

I've got a feeling this game stays in the 50s.

Agreed, if it stays in the 50's it's a nail biter, if it's over 65 bad news for Boone.

Does anyone know if there are any broadcasts of this game?
