Must have been wearing horse blinders, because HC has a big, quick and strong d-line. Boone beat them early in the season when the timing in the HC passing game was not perfect. IMO Conner will have trouble keeping this game close because of the speed of HC. Good luck trying to catch Harris, the kid has serious blazing speed.

Keeping a player in a game to set records does not display class IMO. Bradley's accomplishment was against a competitive team where the game went down to the wire and to me is more appreciative than letting a stud running back rack up yards when you have obviously defeated your opponent. Congrats to all three kids though, because 400+ yards in a single game is something you should be proud of and will be hard top.

Appaerntly we have a uk#1fan clone that supports Conner. Die-hard fan or not, you have to be realistic and believe this game will be fairly close. Conner has Smith and company and Cooper has Bradley and company. If Copper controls the TOP with their run attack and can keep Smith off the field Conner won't have a chance. If Bradley is held to under 100 yards, Cooper doesn't have a chance. I'll put my money on Bradley!

I agree Walter. I believe the Holmes group will be just fine. Maybe not the same as they have been in the past, but they will establish their own identity and be successful, because these are boys that enjoy playing basketball and will work hard regardless of who's there.

IMO the programs (players) are winning with class. It's the overgrown has-beens that were probably losers when they played that get on here and try to be part of the winning program by bragging and whatever else white noise they can make.

The bigger question is, what difference does it make for Cooper to win? 1st 6A win would be a biggy. Who do they want to go to the playoffs more, Boone or Conner?

I'm actually off every week because I don't play. SK has a very nice QB and was impressed with him take over the game with his high emotion and athletic ability, but for the playoffs, I'll probably be watching the Ryle Raiders. (You do remember them don't you).

I was told that even coach Thompson admitted that not going for it was a mistake. It's more than just that one play that has been questioned.

I don't think the Boone football system is working for anyone related to that program right now except for maybe the head coach. IMO the basketball system is fine.

CCH????? So you are not even part of the program at Boone, that explains it all. The CURRENT group is the ENTIRE basketball family including coaches and no one is excluded, and we ALL enjoy each other regardless of your "proof" which means nothing because it doesn't affect the teams success ! Nothing more here!

The current Boone basketball parents have a great reputation within their group and with the coaching staff and the outsiders can be just that "outsiders looking in and speculating"! Apparently you have your own issues about our program that you need to deal with alone.

A current player's dad has been known to stand up only a few feet from the bench and let Coach M know exactly how stupid he is. Unacceptable and he's not alone." You make a statement about the the Rebels parents that have no idea about except for visual perception, and now you want to just move on. All the current players parents probably know who you are talking about and trust me this particular parent you're referring to is taken more comical than threatening to the coaches. The entire coaching staff just laughs it off and continues to move on with their plan, which is what they should do.

I haven't missed a game in the past few years and I have never seen this behavior either. He may be referring to one very tall parent who has a funny sense of humor and likes to make suggestions to Coach M in a loud manner from the stands. No harm there, because everyone knows his personality. I'm sure the parent would be removed from the gym if this occurred also.

It is frustrating to watch that entire senior group walk off the field week after week with disappointing results. The talent is definitely there for this to be better than a three win season. It will be interesting to see what happens with that football program next year. Brown, Oppenheimer, Fookes and maybe a couple others could be used more on defense to help out. I really don't understand that program.

From the stands it looked like a punch was thrown, if so isn't that immediate ejection. I don't think I've ever seen a game with so many off-setting penalties. Now about the game! This "flat" excuse is a joke. Boone straight up was the better football team the first half. SK made some half time adjustments to stop the run game and Boone made no adjustments to maintain the pressure they put on SK in the first half. Big pass plays by Boone in the first half, and I think they only thre two plays in the second half. Lawrence is a beast and pretty much the SK offense. Oppenheimer had another great performance, but again he needs some help when the defense sets up to stop him alone. Has the question been asked why does Boone not use #88 on the defense since they don't use him on the offense, the kid pretty much beat up any SK defensive lineman that lined up against him. The Rebels came to play Friday night, but just didn't finish the job.

"Forcing the team to adapt to his style" really doesn't sound like a successful way to run a program. So you would tell your team; I'm sorry kids, we don't have one player over 6', but we're going to continue to run our post up offense 90% of the time because that's my system.

As a parent, we all should want what's best for our kids, and if we see or feel that there are things being done negatively that affects them, then it's human nature to speak up and out, or you shouldn't be a parent. When you're bound by district guidelines and financially unable to attend private schools that support your style of play, then your handcuffed to be a part of sometimes a system that you don't fit in. If you call a parent not agreeing with how a coach runs his program or calls his plays "a problem", then I would bet you anything there's not many high school programs out there that doesn't have that problem. The question is could the program be "better" with a different system. I've always been taught in high school sports, you should do whatever your kids talent can do and not what your specific system can do.

What do you mean "he just broke it", did he break the record in the Ryle game, or did he play somewhere between today and last Friday? What is the new record now? Congrats to him. Not too many people consider tackling Oppenheimer fun! He runs just as hard as Elliot and shouldn't be taken lightly.
