  1. I think Coach Carr is one of the best, if not the best, coach in Northern Kentucky. He truly understands the game and pushes that knowledge down to his players. I think the knowledge combined with the development of each player and the all out effort they are required to give, will always give him an advantage. Not meant to be an attack but I'm not sure I would put coach Steiner in the top 10 in any of the above categories. As far as the game between the two programs in the years to come, I disagree that SK has an advantage. This is the year for SK to make a move if they are going to compete for the 8th region title and it doesn't appear that they are quit there yet. There biggest weakness in the next few years may be there post play; I really don't see anyone replacing there BIGS that are SR's this year. I could be wrong, but I don't know who that is. As far as Scott, they have two extremely talented classes coming thru the program. The Sophmore class has done nothing but post wins and have contributed heavily to this years varsity team. The Freshmen class is somewhat raw, but very athletic and appears to have good size. The eagels will be tough the next few years.
  2. I still keep wondering why Chambers is not better conditioned. Was he not allowed to condition due to the injury?
  3. This should be a good game but you have to go back to nearly 07 to find the last time SK beat Scott. Scott definently has the coaching edge and backcourt advantage with SK having better overall size. However, watching SK play several games they really don't seem to utilize there size well on the offensive end and that may play right into Scotts hands. Both teams play a lot of younger players; I give this advantage to Scott mainly due to scheduling and coaching. Scott has played some very tough opponents already and have been in everygame but one this year and the younger players are having to learn to play at a very high level against the likes of Mason Co. I'm not sure SK's scheduling is preparing them for big games as there toughest opponent thus far has been Conner with Walton-Verona as there next toughest. Should be a great game and I guess that's why they play them.
  4. I may have mis-spoken. Scott's two players did play in the game but one was benched early due a technical foul. The other was taken out due to play and as i appeared from the stands, personal conduct. Not sure of the status of these two players or Kellen.
  5. What are your predictions for the Scott vs. Henry Clay game later this evening?
  6. Wow! Mason Cnty's win-loss record against 10th region teams is an amazing stat!! Scott played most of the game without 2 starters and Mason Cnty had one injured on the bench. Also, Kellen Smith went down late in the game with an injury so the Eagles really took their share of lumps tonight. Hopefully, this team will rally and come out much stronger from the experience. It was a good game to watch and Scott played a lot of younger players that gained valuable experience. If Scott's defense improves their rotations then this could be a closer game the next time they play; if they can handle Mason's post play.
  7. I'm predicting that Scott will pull the victory off tomorrow evening and will send a message to the rest of the 10th Region.
  8. Have you seen SK play? To say there awhful or awful however you spell it is a little ridiculous. While SK does play some youngsters they certainly have some veterans to lean on and really should be the workhorses for the team. I said in an earlier email on a different topic, SK's biggest challenge will be themselves due to their scheduling. They should have scheduled tougher however they can beat any of the teams you mentioned on any given night and vice versa. To realize your true potential you have to challenge yourself and I'm not sure their schedule has offorded them this opportunity so they are going to struggle on certain nights because they don't have to bring it every single night and that will unfortunately become there routine. I put that on the AD or coach but to say they are awful is way off base. I know Boone and Dixie better bring their A game or they may get beat by an 'awhful' team. Now wouldn't that be embarrassing? Last comment: I think Boone's and Dixie's coaches develop their talent better and have a better grasp on X's and O's but kids are kids and you don't know who will show up from night to night.
  9. Big milestone for Coach Carr. Huge accomplishment with the challenging schedule he seems to play year in year out.
  10. Yeah that's my problem with SK's scheduling. Not well thought out if you want to make a run for the Regional title and to make a statement at the State level. Kind of like looking at Auburn's schedule vs. Boise or TCU....... Just a few games for them to really show what they have. If UK#1fan is remotely close to how good they are (and I doubt it because Doss is not among the elite Bigs as he states) then they should have a schedule like GRC or some of the other big boys.
  11. Scott travels to Harrison County this Tuesday, who wins this 10th Region showdown and why?
  12. I think that will be key for Scott. Preassure the ball and don't let it turn into an interrior battle. GRC's experience and size will be hard to overcome but coach Carr's teams are rarely outworked.
  13. Early season 10th Region matchup. Clark seems to have a very talented team, can the Scott Eagles pull an upset?
  14. Scott wins by 55+ points with a lot of younger players playing. Calvary seemed not ready to handle the pace of the game but hopefully they will grow from the experience. They did compete the entire game which was good to see.
  15. SK should win easily against a young Harrison Cnty team. If SK doesn't walk away with this one then SKs coach needs to go back to the drawing board. Should have too much size and experience for the Harrison squad. The next few years may be different though when these two meet again.
  16. Time to tip off! Can Scott come out of the gates hot in a tune up for GRC Saturday?
  17. Where there is smoke there is fire and maybe SK needs to re-think the atmosphere they are allowing to permeate around their program and school. No one can defend the judgement or the intent of anyone wearing such shirts much less trying to sport them on the opposing sidelines. If you are trying to defend it, then you really don't get it. If SK's administration didn't or doesn't deal with it, then they should start a new career and do not belong in the business of shapping kids lives. Too much seems to be going on at SK's campus and now its starting to show in instances like this. This is totally classless regardless of what school you are from and it is a total embarrassment. As far as the kids will be kids..... well I agree... but I also agree that they must learn to deal with consequences when they make bad choices. Its called life.
  18. Scott beat Owen County and looked really good at times. If they continue to play solid defense and fill it up they can be a really solid team this year. There JV team looked really good as well. Coach Carr always puts good teams on the floor but he may be building something special for the coming years.
  19. Isn't Catholic a private school? If so, how does this come into play?
  20. Let me guess.... Highlands and......wait on it......wait on it.... whoever they are playing?
  21. Well I guess its what you are looking for in a forum. I joined the site to engage in decent conversation and to learn about various topics. As a moderator you clearly support this as a trash talking sight so I guess that why I probably need to move on and allow my membership to expire. Just not the type of forum I'm looking for nor many others on here. In case I stay, what are you guys actually moderating?
