Greenup does not have enough players for a JV Team again this year.

Nick Tackett, 6'2 260 lb Junior, was injured in an auto accident Saturday. He will be out for two weeks. He will be replaced by either Poplin, 6'2 235 lb Senior, or Nichols, 6'5 220 Junior. Neither are as experienced as Tackett but will get the job done until he can get back on the field. We are just thankful the injuries were not more serious.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this family and the entire community.

Congratulations Raceland Rams! Good way to start the season!

Most of the offensive lineman were at the High School Saturday afternoon for ice baths! A little stiff and sore but nothing serious. They will be watching film of the game this afternoon and then start preparing for Russell tomorrow.

I think the Musketeers may be getting a little more respect after this game. They just need to step up and close the deal. I dont think anyone on the Ashland side of the field thought the game would be tied into the 4th quarter, that GC would be down only one score with 4 minutes left on the clock... or that the GC Offensive line would be as succesful as predicted...Greenup had over 300 rushing yards against a team that everyone thought (except loyal GC Fans) would walk away with the game. The turnovers in the last minutes of the game were the deciding factor in how this one turned out. Get some rest Musketeers and get back to work. Congratulations Tomcats.

Game Day! Everyone headed out to this game needs to arrive early. Parking is limited due to the ongoing constuction of the new Greenup County Field house.

Coupon21 is busy getting ready for Friday Night! I believe Greenup County is much improved. We have a core group of boys who have played together for years and some new talent. These boys have worked hard and grown tremendously under Coach Copley's leadership (both physically and mentally!) There is a lot of pressure this year for the boys to hit the ground running and have the best season in years. With 18 Seniors, this class is the largest GC has had in a long time (or will have for the foreseeable future.) It is NOW or 4-5 years from now. The team is confident but I do not believe the schedule gives them the best opportunity to build on that confidence. CAN Greenup beat Ashland? Never say never... I want the Musketeers to give the Tomcats the fight of their lives. I want the fans from both sides to walk out of the stadium thinking differently about Greenup County (regardless of the scoreboard.) I have been around this group of seniors since 2nd grade JFL They have the HEART and Determination to make great things happen!!! GO MUSKETEERS!!!

Greenup started practice last night and the team is looking good. We have 20 seniors (most are returning players with a few new faces sprinkled in.) Expectations are high for this group. Copley has done a great job in the offseason and the boys have spent a lot of time in the weight room. GO MUSKETEERS!

Prayers from Greenup County. We lost one of our own last year and know how tough this is on the entire team and the community, not to mention the young man's family. My heart goes out to all involved.

The behind the scenes stuff is heating up. Camp days have been set. We will do a mini camp in late July and once again the entire team will go to Feltner the week before school starts.

To get a fix I went to the Northeast KY Warrior Football game in Portsmouth (semipro) Saturday night. It had a high school atmosphere and several of the boys were only a few years out of HS.

Work on the Field is underway and the construction for the new fieldhouse is due to start June 1. Great news!

That is what we are hoping for!! The boys have really worked hard this off season and we have big expectations!

We had a great turnout for our Annual Golf Scramble. Thanks to everyone who came out in support of Greenup County Football.

He is an 8th grader at Wurtland Middle School.

And it starts...(lol) Since the ice has been broken I will jump right in there...All of the members of last year's "transfer-gate" are back at Greenup County and a large part of our 20 member Senior class have played together since their early JFL days.
