  1. The intro music for Planet Earth is neat when paired with football footage. This link shows the Warren East Preview for 2009 set to that music:
  2. How is Lex. Cath ahead of Lone Oak when Lone Oak beat Lex. Cath straight up?
  3. It has rained EVERY single Friday that Warren East has played. It may not have rained during the game, but for 9 games, it has rained during every Friday.
  4. Centre would be just fine holding the crowd for anything short of a Semi-state game...now parking at Centre is a whole different ball game.
  5. Lex. cath is ranked higher than Lone Oak despite losing to Lone Oak head-to-head...someone please explain this one to me.
  6. In 2007 Warren East played 14 games and finished with just two kids barely breaking the 100 tackle mark...with the highest total being around 120...those stats listed above are a joke...whoever turned those in ought to be embarrassed to have done so.
  7. X wins in a battle of the over rated Ohio programs.
  8. X always goes first...and we all know who always goes second.
  9. I was looking for a bigger fight than that CardsFan...you had to kow I was licking my chops on this one...gotta give you credit for taking it on the chin with class. :notworthy:
  10. Just more proof that Ohio football is VERY over rated or KY's top teams are WAY under rated. The team that is supposedly one of the top 10 in the COUNTRY gets beat by a public school with a 3A enrollment... Did anyone watch the Lakeland vs. De La Salle game? I'm sorry, those teams were moving at a different speed thn Ohio's beloved Collerain, Elder, and St. X...now that I've seen them all play, the three afore mentioned would be 20+ dogs to Lakeland and De La Salle. Just glad we don't have to listen to how great Ohio football is anymore, you know why...'cause the Birds just smacked Ohio's #2 and sent them back across the river where they belong. :isurrender: Nice job Highlands! Way to represent KY!
  11. I'd say that was a bit of sarcasm...both UK and U of L have offered, as have Vandy, Middle Tennessee, Cincy, and Stanford...not a bad list at all.
  12. No, which is why UK and Vandy are his only SEC offers...but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he's an exceptional player with great skills who will hopefully stay in-state and help KY college football get better. It's a shame when UK and U of L can't keep the best talent of this state inside the state lines.
  13. Cov. Cath has the greatest student cheering sections...something to behold!
  14. Not trying to be mean here, but if that kid is the quickest you've ever seen, you haven't seen much speed in football. He is a very legit and good looking skill player, but wait and see how many SEC (where speed is king) offers he picks up. The Dixon kid as far as I can find (and Cards Fan may correct me here if I'm wrong) is the only Colerain kid that holds a DI-A offer at this point.
  15. A rebutal: Elder stuffed Colerain for the majority of the game. AND when it really mattered, and Colerain had a chance to make it a game with 4th and 2 in Elder's turf, Colerain's RB got turned back by a 160lb. Jr. mainly because he ran with his pads straight up. I told you I understoof that they're an option team in my original post...but the reality is that if the argument of the greatness of Ohio football is to hold water then a "great" team like Colerain should be able to "make a play" once in a blue moon. Several times Colerain's WR's blew past Elder's DB's only to watch the ball land 15 yards past them. A defense gives up only two scores to a top flight team like Colerain and you want to talk yardage? I've never seen yardage posted on the scoreboard. Take all the angles you want, the better teams in the states I've mentioned would walk down both the teams we saw today in the open field, angle or not. I apologize for saying Colerain is big. They did have some excellent looking backs. Elder had some REALLY good looking O-lineman and their TE is a beast. ...your turn.
  16. There is no questioning the depth that Ohio has. Heck, it has several major metro areas that are simply bigger than KY's biggest metro, Louisville. But that doesn't change the fact that Ohio football still is mostly slower Big 10 style football. The state will of course have some exceptions and produce some stellar athletes and when it gets down to it, most of the people who watched that game today saw a very good Elder team beat another good Colerain team. BUT neither team had great TEAM speed. BOTH schools looked fast but to me for Elder to hold the #3 ranking in the country is a joke. I would venture to say that there are at the minimum 15 teams south of Orlando that would beat Elder by 20+ points on the simple matter of overall talent and speed. The gap between what we saw in #1 St. Thomas Aquinas and #3 Elder is like the gap between A small college team and an average high school team. The two are simply not in the same league in terms of the kids that are on the field. I think the stinging reality of today broadcast game is that for the first time a mass audience got a look at Ohio's best, and to tell the truth, it just wasn't that impressive.
  17. Louisville St. X will once again prove that mighty Ohio really isn't that mighty. Lou St. X 35 Cincy St. X 14
  18. That was an amazing high school stadium and environment. What a neat place to play as a high school kid! As for the level of play, Elder was much more impressive. But, once again, did anyone notice that Colerain's QB couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, and when he did throw it either A: the ball was WAY overthrown or B: the Colerain kid dropped it (and yes, I know they're an option team). The size for both school's was impressive and Elder's defense was stout, but it just wasn't as impressive as I expected. I still contend that there are probably 15 teams in Florida and then several more in Calif and TX that would blow by the teams I saw today. Looked like typical Big 10 football...two teams full of hard nosed big kids who will knock the snot out of you, but probably wouldn't catch you in the open field.
  19. Like two Big 10 teams...they are both huge...but after seeing St. Thomas Aquaius(Sp?) a week or so ago, I'm sorry, neither of these two teams is within 30 points of those guys. The speed simply isn't there for either of these two.
  20. It's a tough place to play in the Russell Co. outfield...
  21. Henry Clay in the top ten negates this poll. Come on, is there anyone who really thinks Henry Clay can compete at the top levels? They're a good Lexington school, which makes them an average Louisville school. I would take the rest of the top twelve head to head against HC anyday and bet that HC would go about 2-9.
  22. Yes, I know...that wasn't my point. My point was that when Lone Oak has played teams of measure, they may have won, but "not by much", thus my point that I didn't think they'd beat Marshall to death. ...but that was based on past knowledge of Marshall and not the fact that they seem to be VERY down this year.
  23. Lone Oak has never beaten a school of any measure by much since they've been on this run. They may win, but I doubt they'll run away with the score.
