14-7 AC Mercer scores on a pass to Dow.

AC will take this one. I think MC will have trouble containing Ryan Martin. AC defense stepped up when needed this past Friday night against a very capable GRC team. I'll take AC 42-14

Then why did one of the guys in the press box say he was a coach ( Anderson Co)? That is the question. It was a very confusing time for the radio to have to go to a commercial during the game. But I know what I heard with my own ears. One guying saying he was a coach and another saying he was thier AD. And I'm sure the broadcast was in HD quality. I don't know how to answer your question. I know what I know. BTW, don't know who the PA guy is but he could use some football speak training. I give him all the respect in the world, I'm sure he is a guy volunteering his time. He really could use a cheat sheet though. :lol2:

Not what the radio guys talked about but what I heard with my own ears over the radio. I was not at the game. If I had been then I would not have heard this on the radio. Above is what I heard. Again, I was at the game. AC AD? Could be. I know all the AC coaches. From my count, they were all on the AC sideline, either on the ground or in the metal high rise on that side of the field.

I was at the game. No AC coaches were in the press box. I don't know who the radio guys were talking about. As far as vandalizing the bus, after watching the game, I'm not surprised. Seemed to be a lot of trash talking by GRC players the entire game. I'm all for players being hyped and full of pride. It seemed to be going past that. I have watched a ton of high school football and even coached a few years. I can tell the difference. I also witnessed what I really don't know how to describe last night. AC took a knee with 23 seconds left on the clock. Should have been the final play. The GRC coach then called a TO with about 12 sec. left. Never seen that before.

AC 21-20 @ half

Anderson Co. lost one of their starting lineman for the year in the first 3 minutes of the game. He played both O and D line. Hate it for this young man. As for the rest of the game, it was ugly. AC needs to clean some things up on both sides of the ball. This is a fairly young team that will get better as the year goes on. Ryan Martin is one of the better running backs I have seen in a while. He took a KO to the house for a TD and had another run of 50 plus yards for a TD where he broke the ankles of about every defensive back SO had. Congrats to the Bearcats.

I knew they beat Trigg Co. but didn't know the score. Wasn't able to make that game. I think Mercer will do fairly well this year. I know at the camp they went to in early July the JV beat Southwestern's varsity 4-1. My daughter plays on the JV for Mercer. One downside is they are in the same district as West Jessamine. :thumb:

Mercer Co. beat Madisonville 8-0 and beat Cooper 1-0.

I think UK would be perfect for the games. I have said for years if UK ever went to a turf field the games should move there.

They need a coach that can control the locker room as well as the X's & O's. They graduated some of their O-line and D-line. It will help to have a healthy Davis at QB. Defense needs work. Offense had it's moments, just not enough of them.

This process has taken entirely too long. Spring practice should start next week. Kinda hard to without a head coach.

You are dead on HD. They also need a coach who will keep the locker room in check.

It's Mercer Co. Sad to say but this has been the M.O. every time there is a coaching search over the past several years. IMHO it has been a ridiculous situation since Jaggers was forced out. Mercer completely screwed themselves when he was forced out.

You ever been to a middle school or high school girls soccer game? The less than civil aren't specifically in football. :lol2:

Agree with most of your post. Coach Pardue was doing a good job. Where I disagree is that the fans and the locker room were the issues. Mainly the locker room. The fans (see parents) at Mercer are an issue also.

No one is going to be successful at Mercer until the fans and parents get over themselves and until the kids get their heads on straight. Just a fact.

DeSales is the defending champ. They are number one until somebody proves different.
