  1. I don't know about the rest of the state, but down here in Monroe County our kids have a hunger and drive that is shocking. They were hitting and growling like they want a little more of last season and did not realize that it is a new season...really impressive spring training and most definitely the hardest hitting spring season I can ever remember. Is your kids ready for the lights again?
  2. In 2a. Glasgow will be up, thats the only way they can go. No offense Scotties. Monroe lost a lot of starters but return a real good bunch of kids. Green lost thier two powerhouses, you probably won't see much decline there though. Metcalfe...I would have to say is back to a rebuilding cycle for a couple of years..very down.
  3. my vote is again Ft Cambell Falcons!!! :notworthy: But I will have to say you will have to watch glasgow in our district because they are always unpredictable. Monroe has some big shoes to fill losing most of the starting line and QB. The jv QB Arnett is a great baseball player that will most definately go to college on a baseball scholarship, but may fool a lot of people around here with his natural athletic abilities. He has a real good feel for the field and the position. Rb wise, Monroe will be tough! The return of Kendall which will just be a junior is great because the kid has explosive speed, he is joined by the power, run you over, of Vickerey that was super impressive on JV last year. This combination of speed and power in the back field is very volitile for coach Pettet. And not to mention the return of one of the best recievers in 2a, Wilson...offense is covered if they can find and ol with the heart of last years seniors. The true goal of MC is to travel to FC to eat some Pizza...They are a class act group of kids and fans!!! And with a little help onto BG for a state title game!!!:ylsuper:
  4. Its great to see the talent stay in KY! Congrats to him and his family.:thumb:
  5. Thanks FalconBacker for the shout!! I agree that Monroe with its 2-11 season in 07 and to turn around in 08 and go 12-2 to semi state in 08...that's a pretty good turn around in my book. The senior class that John had this year will be well missed, he had them from freshman when he took the head coaching job at Monroe. But don't be surprised with the up and coming in monroe, I feel we will have a good one next year as well! I very much look forward to seeing FC again, And Congrats on the second straight!!! Go Falcons
  6. Great, love to see Ky talent stay in KY!!! Way to Go!!
  7. I completely agree that no 1-9 or 0-10 team should ever get an 11th game. It's just not right!!! A playoff game is earned, not given!!!!
  8. I must also. I apologize for the tunnel vision. Larry French is more than deserving of this award. He is doing amazing things for Boyle County and will continue with the support of everyone!!! Sorry about that!!!:thumb:
  9. My sons play and alls they ever talked about was getting to Papa Johns. I am glad BG is hosting the finals because they will go all out for this event, but I am sad that these kids that have never stepped foot in Papa Johns will not get the chance now. I am torn!!!
  10. Do you feel the change of venue is good or bad?
  11. The boys hit the weight room the monday after the loss to you guys. I have two sons , one a junior and the other a sophmore, they are gearing up for next season. My sophmore wants training aids for christmas...not psp's, clothes, ect...but things that are going to beef him up and make him quicker! he has the look of pure determination in his eyes and heart...playing Fc and meeting josh and the other players changed him this year. He will make it to the dance he stated!!! I am going to do everything I can as a parent to help, it is up to them now!!! Good luck and I honestly hope we come to you next year!:thumb:
  12. I am proud to call John our coach as well as a friend. Having went to school with John and played beside him he has all the right key particals in his head and heart to make a really great long term coach for the Falcons!!! My sons think the world of him as a leader and someone they could turn to in times of trouble...He is a really good role model for these boys and a really good citizen of Monroe County. We all wish him the best and knew he had it in him, he just had to overcome a few hurdles to get the program where he wanted it to be. IMO John has set the bar pretty high for the underclassmen and the future of Monroe County Football!!!!:thumb:
  13. Not having a dog in this fight, I can say FC is a real stand out group of kids, coaches, parents, and fans!!! The sportsmanship as a whole is to be admired, not ridiculed! This is the absolute best team in 2a football in the state of KY. I am proud that we had the chance not only to host this team but to be a part of their rise to the championship this year. Without a doubt in my heart this team not only plays fair but also shows great love and respect for the game. I followed the game with NCC and it was just a great game. Not to say that these kids don't get physical, but this is a contact sport! I am in no means calling anyone out or putting down NCC because obviously they also deserve to be there. This is another good program and they have showed this two years running. But you have to admit that FC is the best!! I am a Monroe County Falcon Fan through and through and I am proud that we got to meet some of the parents and players this year!!!! Congrats Falcons...See you next year!
  14. Congrats to Fc for another Tilte..It goes to show when you strive for the title and you play hard and good, good things happen!!! I was rooting for Fc but I have to say good job to NCC for another great season. Sounds like they have it together to move up to 2a and go to the championship two years in a row...great job!!! Look forward to next year already hoping to see Fc again and maybe Ncc...:thumb:
  15. Awesome game, Great job Monroe. My hat goes off to FC, they are a real stand up group of kids. I hope you take it all the way, parents you should be proud that you have a real outstanding bunch of kids!! I can't say enough about Monroe county this year. The senior leadership has been monumental in the great season these boys had! It was great getting to meet Scribe, I hope you had a safe trip back home. Toebud, SEMPERFIFALCON, and myself really had a good time watching a cheering for our Falcons...We have a great bunch of juniors and sophmores coming up next year lets hope thay can follow in the seniors footsteps... Go Roe Go!!! Best of luck FC!!!!! :ylsuper:
  16. Thats too bad, that is just an incentive for the boys to get a little recognition.
  17. I was kinda getting the same feeling about Monroe..but we will see!:thumb:
  18. That is really great, Uk could use some really talented in-state kids. I haven't seen anything on his size or speed that is why I was asking...Thanks
  19. It's just my opinion but it seems to me that people are definatley overlooking Monroe. If they lose I will eat crow but the same if they win is everyone going to give them a little credit that maybe they deserve to be here, not just a fluke. I understand they are not the every year powerhouse that the other schools are but this team and the two to follow should be pretty tough to handle. Remeber just IMO!
  20. Wasn't thinking about that was more thinking about college! Is he maybe a D1 prospect or lower. That is all I was asking for. If he has good numbers I know he is a junior and would love to see him stay in state rather that lose him to another like TN.
