The mighty 2a Falcons of Monroe return home in their debut against a much improved 5a Barren Co. Trojans friday night. I feel this might turn out to be closer than most will predict. The trojans, although not as good statistically as Monroe, always seem to find a good game in their arsenal against Monroe. They are very speedy and are very capable of putting some balls in the air. I still don't feel they have the team to beat the Falcons this year! I am going to call this one closer than usual...33 to 21 Monroe!

Being ex-military I love to see two Dod high school teams play. I did basic training at Knox but absolutely know without a doubt they don't stand a chance. The mighy Falcons will do whatever they want in this contest. The tides may turn in a couple of years with Knox's new post commander, but untill he can transfer some Soldiers and their families...Fc wins hands down!!!

Great win Dragons! It looks good for our District. Going to be another hard fought District matches here between Green, Glasgow, and Monroe!

People this game wasn't even close! 14-0 in the first 3 minutes. Adair was grossly outmatched, as far as the Head coach from Adair, I really feel that if he cared about his players he would have been on the field instantly when they went down. Not strolling out as if he was going for the coin toss. The second player that went down was starting qb and the coach threw his head set twice before he even got out to the player. Not very proffesional in my opinion! That player laid on the field with Monroes coaches taking more concern with him than HC from adair that was calling a team meeting on the field. He was laying there with a broke ankle and only one coach from adair tending to him for a very long time untill an ambulance arrived. Anyways, sorry for the rambling, great game falcons!! 39-0 at half and the starters didn't see the field again!

I feel Green will take Butler in this one. Green is a solid football team that will play smash mouth with the best of them. Butler lost to a good Allen Co. in their opener and won last week against a not so good Breckinridge. I feel we might see a real high scorer for the Dragons! Green 48 Butler 20

Monroe is showing that they have a little depth in the ranks with a solid win over a real good BowlingGreeen freshman team tonight. Monroe's freshman squad is without a big player that actually starts on the varsity, Chad Wilson, starts at tight end as a true freshman. The backfield led by Taylor Witty at halfback, had a really good night running all over a good solid defense. Trevor High at Qb and John-Allen Yokley really showed that Monroe isn't just having a couple good seasons but starting to build a rock sloid program from little league up. Coach Petett is really involved with all stages of Monroe county's programs. This freshman class has huge numbers and athletes as well as two classes below them. IMO Monroe is really showing that the pride and fan base as well as the desire to build a lasting impression is there!!! Way to go young Falcons!!:notworthy:

Grizzly 33.....Wow! Not a Great idea for this poll!!! Reality check...Fort Cambell will destroy this team with their freshman., and I am not from FC...I am a 2a rival. Fc beat us in semi-state last year and this squad is IMO better than that one. Go Falcons

Monroe gets another Win friday against a much improved Adair Co. IMO. The mighy Falcons are fine tuning their tweeks and getting ready for a real tough match this week. I am not sure how Adair fairs this year because no stats have been reported to date on them as of yet. From what they had returning from last year and how well they did I am calling Monroe by 20! Would love to see the running backs getting some big holes and both rush for over 100 friday...we'll see! Go Falcons!!!

It was great to hear that Mayfield won this one. I root for any Ky team, but Trousdale has a really good football program. Great job Mayfield!!! Now strap it on and prepair for next week.:thumb:

I agree with SemperFiFalcon that Monroe beat a very good Edmonson Co. team tonight. The score doesn't really show the game because Monroe had one called back and they gave edmonson one late in the 4th off a missed kick attempt. Coach Petett's play calling is IMO at the top of his game, he is calling the right stuff at exactly the right time. This is very helpful to a very young and not to experienced team. This team with a little more effort from the OL could make a real good season but they have to give it every play. To many times tonight we looked at lineman standing up and watching the play go by or hitting once and letting go...very bad for any team, but that is not only the line...some backs need to learn to put it out there for their fellow backs, not only when they get the ball! To many 1/2 blocks all over the field! It is great to walk away with a win but as Coach Petett said tonight, we have a long way to go and a lot of hard work because Monroe's schedule is a very hard one yet to come. I am definately for Mayfield!!! With that being said they better bring it to the field because when Trousdale takes the field they bring the entire community and all their ancetors with them to fight every play of the game! They have a huge fan base for the smallest county in Tn., and you will see that if you attend. I loved it when Monroe played them, not always a great result, but a great game neverless! Good luck Mayfield...even though I still have hard fellings from my senior year of 89'.:irked:

Edmonson will have a lot of trouble scoring on Monroe's defense. They completely shut down a better Wayne co. team. I agree with Toebud, So happy to see edmonson back on the schedule. At no cost will coach Petett overlook this team because thay are coming off a great season, but Monroe has way to many weapons for this team! I look for a real high score game from Monroe, most coming from the air, but don't underestimate the running game with Kendall and Vickery. No matter this is going to be a great friday night of football...hope to see you there!:ylsuper:

Our thoughts and prayers from Monroe Co. go out to the Sullivan family and friends. May the Lord guide them in their time of grief.

Thanks, I was told they lost a lot but from the sound of it they have picked up where they needed to. Green has been a hard game for us for a few years now, looking forward to another good game at our house this year!!
