  1. Speed by far!!! I would take 11 fast kids over big kids anyday!
  2. I meant no disrespect towards any program that is still left in the playoffs, I am just a proud dad of two players and can't get enough of this teams accomplishments. I wish every team success but we all know that there is only one champion. In my heart it is already Monroe!!!:ylsuper: But in reality I know at least three other programs might have something to say about that!!!!:argue: This week will decide at least two of them, by the way, Monroe's field is in horrible shape. They are trying to get it in shape for tomorrow but the rain today did not help. I saw the news and at game time here it is suppose to be 30 degrees, maybe some of the mud will freeze! Bring your cold gear its December and we are still playing!!!:thumb:
  3. First of all, THANK YOU for your service. I am also an Army Veteran. Now back to the topic on hand: In no way would I ever try to take away the respect that FC deserves but I will state this, Monroe is hungrier and more determined than any team still alive at this point. Monroe has only been this far once before in the Falcons school history (89). They are a team that is playing with nothing to lose, not face or shame or right of passage, they are extremely proud to be 1-0. That is this teams record after every game. They always break down the huddle with 1-0 after a win. So this game is thier first in thier eyes and hearts. Monroe also is three deep at most postions on the field with the second string not falling far from the top. Most of these kids have that look in thier eyes that this game is not enough. Monroe has an entire community behind them with a great Fan base. The second string could be starting at some programs in our district. This is good to keep fresh legs and minds in the game at all times. I am not sure how deep FC is but Monroe dresses 70 kids for a 2a program. That is a really high number for our school enrollment. Also about Fc being the highest scoring Team in 2a. That is true but I will say this about Coach Pettet, he is very good at getting the younger kids in the game very quik. You will never see him run up a score on any team. Just look at Monroe's stats. The wealth is spread all over the place...no stand out players, just solid, smart, gifted athletes with the coaching staff to take them along way! This being said I am taking Monroe in an upset by 6!!!! May God watch over these kids and bring you home safe!
  4. Do you have Antonio's stats? Height, weight, 40 time, GPA
  5. Agree!:thumb: Just needs to put on some weight and bulk up some. This kid has all the making of a really great athlete in the future, really fast 40 time, very intellegent, and had the heart and the spirit of a true champion.
  6. I agree with SEMPERFIFALCON, FC needs to wear long spikes on thier cleats because the shape of the field is really bad. Not that I am complaining because that means we are playing more than usual. Three straight games with no break and some really foul weather to boot does not make for idea playing conditions. Our first game against Fort Knox it seems like the rain gods opened up and poured thier eyes out on us. I was sure it was remnants of a tropical storm or something. The field was pretty much destroyed after that game. It hasn't had time to heal because Monroe refuses to lie down! Just one more and the field can heal for the season!!!
  7. It goes to show you that on any given night of football anything can happen! High school football is very unpredictable at times, one player being off his game can change the outcome of the score. I feel Monroe is pretty deep at alot of positions but I am sure that is the the case for FC. I feel like I am in high school again and can't wait for friday night. The atmosphere is full of excitement about the big game!!!
  8. My brother was at this game, he siad it was a great game. Center Grove is where we all went to school before tranfering to Monroe!!!Great job Trojans. Thier last state championship was in 1989.
  9. I am glad to see that FC fans are of better class than previous Monroe played Fans. We are anticipating a great turnout. I hope the stands are full again Friday night like the last game. I was told there was close to 3800 at the game watching. That is really a large crowd for our little community! Fc needs to bring everyone they know and have a great day over here in our neck of the woods!! And definately take in the local eateries, we have many BBQ's to choose from.:thumb:
  10. All the Bar-b-Que's are worth the trip, but Gamaliel has a new one run by a Falcon dad called Chicken Wangs! Very good, but a little warning...get it hot and you won't be able to stop the sniffles at the game!!! Gamaliel is 8 miles south of T-ville.
  11. I would say it would be louder than anyone has ever heard!!!:thumb:
  12. wow, it seems like OC gave FC a good region fight! Good job Falcons, see you Friday!:thumb:
  13. He is quite the athlete I understand. It is going to be a great game in Monroe friday night!
  14. Believe it or not, We are on the GPS'S!!! I welcome all FC's fans and players to Monroe, We are coming out of difficult game with a team and fans that I wish would read up on sportsmanship. It is great to get a Falcon on Falcon semi-state at home!
  15. All us down here knew it it was getting Green to believe it! Thanks:thumb:
  16. I agree 100%. Both Monroe and Green should be very proud that they have put down some really great programs and have stepped up and taken control of our region. Its great for both programs to make it this far, win or lose our district still wins!!
  17. I will also take Patriots by 8. They have a good bunch of kids and thier coach has really turned that program around!
  18. 5 Breathitt 3 Monroe 3 Corbin 1 Male 1 Doss 1 Simon K 1 Owensboro 1 Raceland 1 Lexington Cath 1 N. Bullitt TB 45
  19. You can't go anywhere without someone talking about Monroe vs. Green. I was in Lowes in bowlingreen today and two guys where talking about the best game to go friday night and one said tompkinsville. Of course it may also be for the food, but I believe this to be the game of the night.
