Higgins is the Brother in law of the guy I spoke with at the clinic. He seemed more disgruntled at the process that Higgins and Lawson were never given an interview. Why do you not talk to all qualified candidates. That is his real problem with the system. Tims point is that you cannot ever know if you are hiring the best person if you do not look at all candidates. Only looking at candidates that fit an opening that you know of in the present, not what may occur down the road. I don't know Lawson or anything about him. So if he had a job then he did. I don't think it is my place to air out the differences between the parents and coaches. They should have done that themselves. You seem to know Tim, call him. I don't think he would not talk to anyone.

WOW! Col. Mike, you are right in one regard, the issues have been blown out of whack. I wonder why know one seems to think that the coach nmay have brought some of this on himself? Not by not playing kids, but but not communicating with parents. Being defensive all of the time. Not repecting his players. II had parents tell me that this past season was about him winning and not about the kids. It does take 2 to tango. It has been seaid that a "group of idiot parents" caused this. I heard that 41 parents out of 64 took the time to fill out the survey. That means the group is over half of the team. Col. Mike, I don't believe the administration cares about a successful football program. They will only look at resumes of those certified in Current Teaching openings. So they do not look for the best leader for these student athletes, just the best"English" teacher that may want to coach football. That does not denote caring about successful football. 3 years ago Higgins and Lawson were not even given a look because they taught math and south did not have math openings. At the end of the year I was told that they had 2 math openings. So they could have had Coach of the Year folks, and strong coaches, but they chose their 3rd 2st year coach. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the school did not fire the coach, he quit. No I have been told that his attitude towards kids that quit was that he would say that they did not need quitters. So, would the same hold true here? I talked with a SO guy at Nike COY and I think there were problems caused by all sides and it is easy to blame the parents. He gave me some issues that I could not understand how the blowup would not have happened sooner. He never talked bad about the coach, just wanted to understand some things and was not given the chance. Everybody on here can make the jokes, but they really don't know all of the issues and problems that existed in that program. I don't know if we ever will really know. It seems that everybody that is in coaching or education defends the coach, parents will defend the parents. so.....

That is just what I was told. So since MOST football coaching jobs are also tied to teaching, they all have to leave the jobs posted for 30 days? I wonder why if the coach sent his resignation out before christmas, why they waited until January 15th to post it? I guess I will never understand this arm of the government.

For some reason, they have to post the job for 30 days. So February 15th the post comes down. Then they start interviewing from there. Is the "30 Day" posting an Oldham county thing or is it a State, public school, thing? Seems to me that several schools move a lot quicker than 30 - 45 days.

Do you know what really went on? I'd love to know. Do you know exactly what the parents did to the coach or what the coach did to the parents. I have reserved much comments on this as I, like you I am sure, are only getting ONE side of the story. So to speculate on this is insane. But if you are a coach of the team or an "insider", I would love to hear your side. Otherwise, you really don't know what you are talking about and looks to me like you are trying to damage SO. To each his own I guess.

Were all of these scheduled this way or are you remembering a regular season and post-season?

I have heard that they have about 20 aps already, some from out of state. I think they'll be fine. Why wouldn't they get much?

Why would Higgins leave FC? For the profile of being at MALE? Increased pressure to win, follow a ledgend? I don't see that one.

Are Highlands and Ryle the only two? I have never seen it scheduled. Not sure how I feel about it.

Drew Deener was saying that Trinity is #1. This morning in the CJ the lit rating had them at #6. Where are the #1 and how are they below most of the teams they beat in the LIT rating?

I looked like South had a lot of uncontested shot attempts in the first half, that just did not fall. That is just the way the ball bounces at times. I thought they played much better in the second half. They will be fine. Anybody start a North vs South Defense thread?:banana:

100% Correct! But in to many cases, you no longer have a lot of either. There will be teams that pop in and out of the picture, but year in and year out, it will be X & T.

The Big 2 is right. Male no longer seems to be a real part of the year in year out equation. I don't see anyone else in that discussion year in and year out. So it is the big 2. And Yes they will.

I was not implying anything. Simply asking a question and you answered it. Can South reclaim respect in the County? I don't think that NO is scared to play anyone. I think that metality comes from the top down. I love the way that North has turned their program around. Coach Martin was the right man at the right time for that program. Go Mustangs!

Where do you see them on the hill?

South has a new Coach, what do you think they will be like? They seemed to be young last year with Freshmen and Sophomores in the starting varsity lineup. I haven't heard.

I was more asking than telling. I thought that I had heard that this was going to happen, but not sure? I think it would complete the circle with everyone in the county playing each other to determine a TRUE, county champion. Could make it a lot of fun in the OC!

I think they have all of the tools. From supportive admin. To an exciting Head Coach, to some solid athletes. I think they will be in the hunt again! Did I hear that they were going to play Oldham Co. for the first time next year?
