I saw a scenario where on a check swing the catcher appealed to the umpire that was positioned at 2nd base (2 man crew). The 2nd base umpire called that the batter went on the check swing for a strike. How does the umpire down at 2nd have a better angle then the one behind the plate?

That is a big problem in itself. Why would parents let their daughters quit when times get tough? As parents we teach our kids to be strong and never give up. To not quit on your responsibilities even when things are falling apart. Do you quit your job when things are going bad? Do you quit college if you fail a class? Unless something very dangerous is taking place, how can kids "quit on their own?" Where are the parents to say "No, you are not quitting! I don't care how rough things are getting, you made a commitment and you will be a responsible person." If a kid refuses to try out, then that is there decision because they decided not to pursue the responsibility in the first place. But for parents to just let their children decide to quit on their own is irresponsible in my opinion.

But calling them crazy fools is just as insulting and intolerant as anything else. Respect and tolerate what they say and believe. Just like you want them to respect and tolerate what you believe

Good discussion by all. I would like to add that I see a reversal i attitude these days as opposed to 15 years ago. Not in general tolerance, but in the attack of those that still hold on to their conservative views. If we want to accept all for who they are and what they believe, then it has to be a tolerance for everyone. Calling someone a "Bigot" is just as bad as calling a gay person a derogatory slur.

I think It pays a whopping 2500 dollars too. One of the lowest stipends. Coaches do not coach for the money, but I doubt they would do it for free.

I don't think anyone will ever win the "Juan Samuel Triple Crown" again. I think the year was 86 or 87 when Juan Samuel led the league in Errors, Strike Outs, and Caught Stealing.

There is also a dangerous perception for whoever the new coach is. IF Ryle ends up hiring someone who is still out there because they are not a hot commodity, then the parents, players, and fans need to be supportive and not critical. I hope they find someone soon. But there are no big names out there that I can think of, maybe Ray Kues or Brian Colburn. Either way, when someone is hired, do not criticize them for being selected. IT is not their fault that the process took so long.
