I felt like I was forgetting one. I'm not sure if the Patriots had any players from JACES on the team this past year. I'm sure they must have but I just can't remember.

Just to add for Harlan County: We have three middle school teams the New Harlan Patriots, Evarts Wildcats, and Cumberland Redskins. But the New Harlan team is made up of 5 middle schools. So an actual total would be 7 schools and 3 teams. I think that's right.

I know Coach Larkey will have the defense ready to play, but I wonder just what kind of offense we will put on the field. I imagine we will see a steady dose of running the ball.

Dylon Smith from Harlan County has potential. He's been playing WR may see some time at RB this year and is pretty good in the secondary. Not the biggest kid on the field but will hit with everything he's got.

With a full off season of Coach Larkey I believe Harlan County will represent itself pretty well in our first season in 5A. We lost some talented seniors but hoping to reload with another year of talented seniors(and juniors, sophomores, and a few freshmen).

Yeah I almost forgot about Dozier, he could possibly fill both spots vacated by Glen Roberts or at least give someone a breather. It just depends on who decides show up and play with a lot this. Coach Larkey has said who ever performs best plays. Maybe some surprises this summer. This is the exciting part of the off season getting to guess about all of this and then get to see how everything turns out.

Yeah I was just making a point with his speed he belongs in the secondary. He's got that toughness that Coach Larkey likes. You can't really teach that. If Coty Taylor can work his way onto the field I don't see him coming back off of it. Assuming Clark ends up at safety, who else do you see on Defense?

That article in the paper really put a shot in the arm to these forums. THANKS. I see McMillian replacing Simmons on both sides of the ball. But I think in middle school he played DE.

Everyone should benefit from a full offeseason with Coach Larkey!

I just don't think he could tackle anybody, he always stayed five yards off everyone and just tried to hit them. Though wrapping up was most of the teams achillies. But that is my only compliant about him. We will miss all of our seniors but I don't think for long.

I halfway agree, There is no way we can replace Roberts on D, but I don't think we will miss Polson that much. I believe we will miss Polson as a big target on offense. I wasn't to impressed with his Defense but I think you put Clark back and put Dylon Smith in Polsons spot and we will be alright. One of my concern is the lack of Height at wide receiver and secondary. Although Simmons done a fine job at receiver I could see Marcus McMillian stepping in to that role. The roster has several WR's on it but can't really remember a lot about them seems like I heard some mention of the Sawyers kid. I recognize the names but just can't remember a lot about them.

Clark is listed as a LB but he played DB last year so that may depend on where coach Larkey needs him. I figured Burgan might work his way onto the field at LB. I also agree with the depth at RB. If Smith and McMillian work their way into the line up, Dylon Smith will stay at WR, but I believe he will see some time at RB just to get him more involved. He did get used at RB quite a bit toward the end of the season, but I don't think we will be hurting at RB. Roberts will be missed at FB, but he will be missed more on Defense. I have heard Coach Larkey say that evey job is up for graps this year who ever performs will get the job, upper classmen wont get it just because. Of course that's just good coaching making everyone work. It puts drive in the juniors and seniors and excitement and hope into the Frehman and sophs.

I have thought all season that Caldwell is the best scoring threat we have! When other people know that I guess it's hard to execute though.

Evarts High School was the Wildcats.

Someone mentioned to me that they saw Chris and Coach Larkey talking a lot on the sidelines this year. I believe Coach Larkey valued his sons opinion which may be bad for Harlan County. Two heads are better than one and know they will be going head to head. It's been said it should make for an interesting father son relationship. Who does Mrs. Larkey cheer for during that game. Sort of makes me wonder how many more years Coach Tom Larkey will coach. He has said Harlan County would be his last coaching job but he has never said how long he was staying. I'm sure he will stay long enough to leave a legacy in Harlan County. If he hasn't already done that!

Chris helped out some with Harlan County this year not sure if he was listed as a volunteer coach or what but he was on the sidelines. Pretty interesting that he will be coaching against his dad in the same district! Coach Tom Larkey(I guess we have to say that now that there are two Coach Larkeys) has brought a lot of excitement to Harlan County if Chris is any thing like him good job to North Laurel for the hire.

I understand just have to stand up for my team, about Hazard I wasn't sure what they had.

The more kids that come out the better the competition will be for positions. I wonder how many kids are planning on playing that didn't last year? I got to see some weightlifting video someone had on their phone it looked pretty impressive!

Is Hazard losing a lot? Why are they a downgrade? Harlan County isn't much of a downgrade either,but of course I would say that! Glad to be playing Leslie, could turn into a nice rivalry

Ison looked good on the O-Line at the Border Bowl. The QB's had a lot time to throw and he was part of that. Hope someone noticed him!
