  1. I hear the boys have looked good at practice, they leave for camp tomorrow anxious to see the team that comes back!!!
  2. I'm not against basketball, just saying he had a lot more time to focus on weightlifting. Playing other sports do keep them in good shape. I hear Coach is working our Bears hard getting them ready for camp!
  3. Pig Roast was a success, I thought it would help hold me over until football season but it just made me more anxious! Go Bears!
  4. Pig Roast tomorrow for the Black Bears! Everyone should come out and support them!
  5. But he didn't play Basketball this year and hit the weights and go a lot stronger. He didn't get huge but really added some good weight! I look for him to open some eyes this year.
  6. Football Practice going strong, youth camp starts tomorrow, and the pig roast Saturday....This is as good as it gets until the season starts. It's good to be a Black Bear!
  7. From what I've heard TJ's name hasn't been mentioned once as QB. Larry, Jordy, and possibly a freshman (Austin Maggard) will be the QB's. I guess the process has begun as to who will take the most snaps!
  8. I Bleed Blue and hate TN with a passion, I hate that I will have to be against him once a year, but I always like to see TN lose, but I would love to see a mountain boy succeed! Go Channing!! Booo Tennessee!
  9. Anyone got any news on who our QB will be? Don't forget the Pig Roast is the 18th at the Village Center!
  10. No matter what decade the music is from it wouldn't be a game without the certain songs that are played at every game! We also have a dance team that has music played every time out or break in action plus halftime so that really takes care of music during the game.
  11. You should really check out youtube and virginia tech football as the team takes the field. I think Clemson does the same.
  12. We are hoping in Harlan County that our Black Bears will belong in this conversation sooner or later. Hopefully pretty soon! At the least I believe they will earn some respectability this year.
  13. I have always said that! A QB gets some undeserved credit when he throws a five yard screen pass and a WR takes it 90 yards! But I guess a WR can bat a pass up in the air and the QB gets an interception. So it equals out.
  14. Dylon Smith from Harlan County has an opportunity to be special, but we have yet to decide on who will be throwing it to him!
  15. I've said this before, I think he would make a good TE in college! But my opinion and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee.
  16. I agree he runs harder than anyone! Playing time has really hurt his recognition at RB, barring a disaster I don't think he will have to worry about that this year.
  17. I believe Cody Taylor and Marcus McMillian will have a stronghold on the Black Bears back field for a while. I hear Coach Larkey has got his team strong now he wants them fast! Mountain seem loaded with players that will be fun to watch! I can't wait is it August yet????
  18. I would say anything east of Lexington. I've always thought I-75 kind of splits it. Then you have southeastern and northeastern, but this is a discussion forum so I would say mention whoever you want if there close enough for you to think eastern KY that's close enough.
  19. I believe Tucker will be the one stopping these top 5 backs. That's his potential I don't really think he will be a featured back at Harlan County, but if he gets some speed he could turn some heads! I heard one of his coaches say he turns like a bulldozer, with his whole body. Speed is a funny thing like Krack Back says you have to support your team so I will say that someday Tucker could be a top 5 back, Again I've seen the middle school games where Coach Larkey was there teaching him how to make cuts and such. I believe his brother Hunter may turn out to be the offensive star!
  20. Not a whole lot to talk about Football, but our boosters in Harlan County are working hard! My little girl got a nice Black Bears skirt that she will wear proudly! Good Boosters mean a lot!
  21. Looking forward to the Harlan County vs. Bell County showdown, this will be a great game year end year out!
  22. I was told Whitley County had a ton of 7th graders there! I don't guess you really have to lift a lot to compete some kids are pretty strong but doing some little things. You know yard work and some manual labor help build some muscles, just ask the Lewis boys!
  23. Glad our Harlan County boys represented themselves welll!!!! Weight training is a big part of Coach Larkey's guide to winning!
