I just noticed today that they credited Kendall's fumble to Griffin in the game stats. Hope that gets corrected.

Hoge was great, but Urlage deserves mention for Highlands as well. He was a load all night, and has been through the playoffs. He was also the weapon out of the Highlands backfield that held on to the ball all night.

The last Owensboro score had me rattled, but I figured there would be some halftime adjustments in the locker room, and some tired Devils in the second half. I stayed in my seat. I wanted to make sure I caught all of Tdyballgame's words of wisdom to the refs.:ylsuper:

I thought fatigue was a huge factor. After the half the Highlands kids came out of the locker room with a strut that belied the fact that they were down 21. Owensboro looked like they were waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop, and as the half wore on, the two way players looked slower and slower. To hold them scoreless was impressive, but to keep them from getting close was just awesome. Owensboro just looked panicked in the second half, as evidenced by the desperation duck tossed up on the halfback option. The halftime adjustments were huge, but at the same time those were some tired pups.

Congrats to Pulaski County!We were saying the exact same thing last Friday. The one kid sounded like he was reading off a script and had little or no prior knowledge of the sport. Great that they are giving the kids a chance to do this. CovCath sacked up last night, which was exactly what was missing in the regular season game. Gotta be impressed with the QB. You could tell he wasn't 100%, but he made Highlands pay for each turnover.
