  1. I don't think these polls count out of state games. I think everyone knows Scott County is number one in the state.
  2. I have seen him many times and he is very good. He might not be afraid to get in someone and even if he does play hard nose defense I was strictly talking about physical size and not how he plays. Do you disagree that he is thin?
  3. Agree with all match-ups but Hatton v Hall. Hatton is a shooter, Hall is a drive first guy. Hall has great post moves for a guard and I think Hatton is very thin and a little on the weak side. Hall could dominate him inside and on the offensive glass. I could also see the match-ups inside switching up. Zollo could possibly guard Conner since he stays on the block and Daniels on Donovan since he plays the perimeter more.
  4. Good point I forgot about that :ohbrother: I think I would really pick Creek I just wanted to make it look closer.
  5. I think it is almost too close to tell. Someone did this in a thread earlier in the year but here's my rankings (right now!) and head to head match-ups in a 7th vs 11th challenge. 11th 7th 1. Scott County 1. Eastern 2. Franklin County 2. Jeffersontown 3. Lex. Cath 3. Ballard 4. Bryan Station 4. Seneca 5. Dunbar 5. Trinity 6. Tates Creek 6. Male 7. Madison Central 7. Moore 8. Henry Clay 8. Manual Scott County vs. Eastern Scott County no doubt. Too much size and can match Eastern's quickness and guard play. Franklin County vs. Jeffersontown I am going to say Franklin County with the way they are playing right now. J-town would have the athleticism but FC would have size advantage. Lex. Cath vs. Ballard I like Catholic in this match-up. They have been playing much better together lately. BTW, anyone see Peirach's (sp?) dunk on Euton last night! Bryan Station vs. Seneca I don't know anything about Seneca but I would bet on Station just looking at 10 losses from Seneca. Dunbar vs. Trinity Trinity in this one. Sewell would be a tough match-up for Dunbar's personnel. Tates Creek vs. Male Male's athleticism inside would give Creek's big men problems. 1 more for the 7th. Mad. Central vs. Moore I would pick Central to come up with a game plan to get the ball out of Mosley's hands. 1-up 11th Henry Clay vs. Manual I'll give Manual the benefit of the doubt regarding Jenkins injury. I could only do my top 8 match-ups. 5-3 in the 11th's advantage IMO (obviously most of us have slightly bias opinions).
  6. I've usually seen SC put guyn on the other teams best player because his length and athleticism. He always plays hard on defense, too.
  7. I agree. I think Scott County and Franklin County have a large size advantage on other teams in the 11th and they both have strong guard play. The two match-up well and I don't think other teams in the region can match their size. That is why Dunbar and Bryan Station could not seem to play Scott County close.
  8. I wonder how this will shake up the BGP rankings. #17 TC loses to #14 Franklin County and unranked Henry Clay, then beats #6 Bryan Station....?
  9. Good win on the road for the Flyers. Really responded to their 13 turnovers in the first half only having 3 in the second. FC seemed to keep the scoring balanced like they always do because they play together so well.
  10. Wesley Watkins has goals of setting the Franklin County sack record.
  11. Tough 11th region match-up. Last year's game had a crazy ending... What does everyone think will happen?
  12. I've never understood why Mason has been able to stay in the top 10. They are no doubt a good team but I've pictured them in the 12-15 range and right now after two losses I'd put them 16 right behind GRC.
  13. I think it was made yesterday morning which was before all games yesterday. Ironically Scott County is number one even though it was made before Holmes lost. Boone County no question in this somewhere if the ranking would've been made after last nights games.
  14. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/php/boysbasketball.php
  15. He could barely dunk and couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time.
  16. If Elliott shoots well they will win by 15+ but if they shoot bad it will come down to the wire because Mason is pretty bad at free throws.
  17. Is Seneca really a top ten caliber team? I wouldn't think anybody in the top ten would be 13-8 or 9. Did Jenkins play well? Is he back to 100%?
  18. How has Cosby been playing? The only time I saw him this year was in their Madison Central loss and he was shut down.
  19. Final. No official stats but Donovan had a huge night, Meyer had a big first half, Conner and Hicks were solid, and so was Hall. All five might have been in double figures, not sure though. Good play off the bench from Watkins who was close to double figures, also.
  20. I know some districts do coin toss for ties with two teams. Would all three teams maybe flip a coin at the same time and the odd team gets 4th seed. Then you have two teams to do a regular coin toss....?
  21. Nothing. I think you could make an argument that Scott County is playing as good as Holmes right now, but you can't bump them ahead of Holmes. SC has been killing everyone until Franklin County last night which was played to the last 30 seconds. Holmes beat FC by 22 without key players DeRon Hicks and Oakley Watkins (Hicks 15 pts against SC last night). If FC had them Holmes still would've won, especially that night since they were strokin' it from three but the score would've been different. If Scott County had beaten Franklin County by 20, since FC was full strength, I could see SC fans with them as #1.
  22. They have a new ranking that came out yesterday and holmes climbed to #21. I didn't think they would drop since they had two other wins by a large margin since the last ranking. http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/content/article.mxp/articleid-26633ec8-d832-4eb0-a92d-c461e3d4c650
  23. Meyer missed a bunch of threes he usually hits. Some must have been due to Guyn's length, but there were a few wide open threes that were in and out which usually fall for him. He was 45% on the year from three entering the game and didn't come close to that percentage tonight. Again credit Guyn's defense and length, but those who saw the game know there were some wide open ones that usually fall.
  24. Not all top 10 teams have a big front court. Bryan Station usually only plays one player over 6'5 at a time I believe, Eastern definitely does not have a big front court. J-Town has 6'10 Reeves but no others overwhelming. I'm pretty sure Ballard doesn't, Mason County, not really. Corbin?...Seneca?...These are all top 10 in BGP and I don't think any have more than one good big guy, if that, which they play at the same time.
