They don't. Cooper and Ryle are in separate NKY Divisions.

Team names?
Interesting Post! I dont know the history of alot of these schools but as far as Villa Madonna goes, I know that they were all female until the late 80's early 90's. Originally their mascot was the Vixens which was not all that appropriate when they went to coed. For a few years after the mascot was the Vipers but the administration thought that a bit inappropriate with the whole temptation of Adam by the serpent. They then decided on the Blue Lightning.

High School Rallying Cries/Slogans
Not that this is a big deal, but the Army war cry has no "R" in it. It sounds more like "Hooah" and is an acronym for Heard Understood Acknowledged. The Hoo-Rah is a Navy and Marine thing. Any one that has ever been in the Army will atest to versatility of this simple slang acronym. It can be used for just about anything.

Covington Catholic 54 Campbell County 0 (Frosh)
Will agree with you on that one TOG But what I was trying to say is that students go to Cov Cath from out of district for many reasons. I have read other posts that proclaim the posibilities of how good other teams would be if their players stayed in this district or that district. I am mearly saying that while young Bob may be attending Cov Cath to play football, he may have attended anyway as his father is a grad and understands the strength a good eduation can give a young man. I live out of district and when my son gets high school age I want him going to Cov Cath! At any rate Bobby is fun to watch run the football!

Bobby's father was on the 1987 state championship football team at Cov Cath.

Ryle 20 Highlands 13 (Frosh)
I talked to a freshman coach and he told me that the "Big School" NKY playoffs will go as follows: 8 teams (Connor, Ryle, Boone, Cov Cath, Highlands, Simon Kenton, Dixie, Campbell) These teams are separated into East and West (but did not find out which team was in which) Playoff week 1 plays 2 from the respective sides and 3 plays 4. The Championship will be the winners of the 1 vs. 2 games. All other teams will be given the option of playing a last game by pairing if they so choose. At least that is what I have been able to find.

Ryle 20 Highlands 13 (Frosh)
It is my understanding that the "Big School" frosh schedule is in stone and will not change. For the Ryle vs. Cooper game to happen Ryle would have to play a 2 game week and maybe have it on a Sat. The Ryle schedule is full thorugh Oct. 15 as are the other "Big School" schedules and then they have one playoff week and a championship week. Oh and by the way, GREAT win for the Raiders, the players have played well! Congrats to Players, School and Staff.

How Does Highlands Keep Performing at a High Level?
I respect Highlands. That being said the hair stands up on my arms everytime I am in Ft. Thomas. The reason for that is I am a Cov Cath supporter. I think 7 is correct. The community in Ft. Thomas is very close and football is an intragal part of that community. It matters to everyone! As soon as football is over the speak around town is what is the team going to be like next year. The kids in Ft. Thomas grow up hearing this and cant wait until their high school years so they can leave their mark. Parents support and expect excellence and the players are more than willing to live up to their end of the bargain. The FTJFL does a great job of building young talent and fostering a LOVE for football. There isnt a qusetion when the players get to high school of "Are you going to play?" They just do, and do it well. Add that to excellent coaching and you get a (it pains me to say it) great product on the field. If any of you have seen Go Tigers about Massilion, it is kinda like that. From birth for most it is football. I respect that....but still look forward to the day when things are more even between HHS and CCH (and that day is coming!)

CCH vs Beechwood Region 9 Championship Updates
its on the internet

2009 Beechwood
Very good! He is fast and very skilled at the RB position. One of if not the best in Northern Kentucky last year. Not as big as True from Highlands but very fast. Saw him run away from the Highlands D several times in the Frosh Championship.

Walton-Verona Open
Coach Barth is a top notch guy and very good football coach. He is a Highlands grad and I believe played on at least one Highlands state championships team in the late 90's. Very good hire. Good luck to WV and Congrats to Coach Barth.

Top CovCath squads in the recent past
The end of that game was really dark. I can remeber seeing the highlights on the news and thinking "all I can see is the person being interviewed." You couldnt see anything behind them but darkness. By the way that 87 team was nasty!!!

Dave Brossart and Newport
Dave Brossart is a good man. He has at least one great coach that would follow him from last year at Cov Cath. Just because things didn't work out for him in Park Hills, does not mean he wouldn't be a good fit. Coach Brossart is a very hard worker and I believe will land on his feet and do a great job wherever he ends up next year. I don't know Coach Rice, but Newport would benefit from the hire of Dave Brossart.

Class 1A KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl: Hazard/Beechwood Updates
I don't make a habit of posting. I just like to read what others have to say. But I will say this on the topic of announcers. It doesn't matter if it is a television broadcast or radio broadcast run by the KHSAA, it always seems like the color man is routing against Norhtern Kentucky teams. I could be wrong but there always seems to be a slant.
