Correct, Manual won the game 61-57 in overtime. Jordan Brangers played his first game of the season for Eastern and led them in scoring with 16 points. Manual was led in scoring by Senior Andy Tillman with 21 points, Simon Clifford aded 14. Sophomore Dwayne Sutton had 7 points and 13 rebounds for the Crimsons. This avenged an earlier loss to the Eagles for the Crimsons.

We can make all the excuses we want, missing players, poor officiating, etc. Manual was actually missing its starting point guard as well. But the bottom line is Seneca won the first quarter, Manual cut into the lead at the half, Manual won the third quarter and built a double figure lead in the fourth quarter. Seneca was forced to commit fouls to try and get back into the game. A tactic that was quite successful I might add. Manual played a 2-3 zone once they got the lead thus not fouling. Like I said above, Manual shot most of their ft's in the 4th quarter and overtime when Seneca was forced to foul. I agree the officiating was not good but they were poor both ways. The officials didn't cause either team to turn the ball over as many times as they did. It was an ugly game. Just remember this December 5th, both teams should improve greatly over the course of the season. Good luck the rest of the season.

I disagree with your assessment RHN. Seneca is much improved over last season but I wouldn't say they are better than Manual. Manual had a 10 point lead with 2:56 left to play and if they hit free throws the Crimson's win going away. Manual hit 8 of 21 free throws in the 4th quarter and overtime. Also, Manual was not credited with a free throw they made late in regulation that would have made the 3 pointer that Seneca hit at the buzzer a mute point. Now, Manual was the home team so they can't complain about the error. Both teams turned the ball over entirely too much. Manual had 31 and Seneca 29. Seneca was 5-8 from the ft line while Manual was 19 of 34. Seneca did miss some easy shots around the basket but they also hit some lucky 3 pointers (2 banked in from the corner and one from beyond half court to end the first quarter. Seneca has wins over Fern Creek (0-3) and Shawnee (0-5). Their schedule gets very tough quckly. Their next 4 games could very well be losses (St. X, Doss, Trinity and Fairdale). They need to beat better competition before I start to believe they are a contender in the Region. Having seen Manual play Waggener and Seneca I believe they are pretty evenly matched teams. The fight for the 2nd and 3rd seeds in the district will be crucial because you do not want to be the 4 seed and have to play Trinity in the first round.

Don't count out Central in the 7th region. They have practically everyone back from last season. Stuart Jackson, Dominique Chandler, and Jamie Johnson are all top quality players and they have several other very good role players. Coach Bibby does an outstanding job with his team. They play extremely hard and pressure you for 32 minutes. They are capable of beating anyone in the state on any given night.

I could be wrong but I believe the Bullitt Co. schools have an agreement with JCPS that each year one school is not eligible to participate in the LIT. I think this is BE year to sit out in the rotation

Here is the way I would re-align the 6th Region. The 7th Region would remain as it is. 6th Region: District 21 Butler DeSales Holy Cross Iroquois District 22 Beth Haven PRP Valley Western District 23 Doss Evangel Fairdale Southern District 24 Fern Creek J-Town Moore Whitfield Academy

Manual will be extremely young this coming season. They graduated 7 of their top 8 players. The Crimsons have 3 Seniors returning in 6'3 Andy Tillman, 6'4 Simon Clifford, and 6'2 Miles Thompson. Thompson will be late arriving to the team after sustaining a broken collarbone in a recent football game with Trinity. The team is hopeful that Senior Dishan Romine will return to the team for his senior season. Romine was the backup point guard two years ago as a sophomore. He choose to focus on football last year. Romine displays great leadership and is an intense defender. Manual will rely on several underclassmen including Jr. Trey Boyd. Sophomores Dwayne Sutton, Mike Nero, Jarrett Harness, Chris West, Jakory Freeman, and Tyron Horton. There is also a very good chance for three incoming freshmen to see significant time at the varsity level. They are Nick Reed, Tim Comstock, and Marquis McClendon. I beleive that Crimsons will probably take some lumps early but by tournament time they should be hitting their stride and able to compete with anyone in the region. Manual is participating in Holiday tournaments @ Oldham Co. in the Best of Hoops Tournament, and at Southwestern HS in the Lake Cumberland Classic. They will also be playing 3rd Region Champ Apollo @Iroquois in the Louisville Hoop Fest.
