Desmond Dorsey and Daniel Ross played well for J-town. Daniel was a bit rusty and looks to have added some weight. For Manual Bryan Repishti and Quintez Thompson led the way. Thompson is the standout wide receiver from the football team. He changed his name from Sutton to Thompson. If J-town drops off at all it will be because they won't be getting the big name transfers in like they did under Morrow. Their team played extremely hard yesterday. Maybe the different approach exhibited by Coach Moody will allow the kids to relax and enjoy playing the game more.

J-town scrimmaged Manual tonight at J-town. Manual won by 9 points after 4 quarters. J-town won an extra period by 2. Both teams pressed and really pushed the ball throughout the scrimmage. I think both teams will be very good this season in their respective regions.

In my opinion, Coach Just is and has been one of the top coaches in Jefferson County as well as the state for 15 years or so. I think he is recognized by his local peers as being one of the best coaches in town. He is a man with great integrity and is truly concerned with his players becoming productive young adults in society. I believe he is right up there with all the great coaches in the state.

They have added transfer Jordan Brangers from North Hardin. Would really like to knowc the story behind this move. Brangers is one of the top Juniors in the state. I'm sure Bevars can't be happy about this loss.

Manual was short handed against St.X They only had 5 varsity players(2 starters) there. Manuals 1st five built leads against X to start both halves. I think X will be good but they are a year away. They had a really good freshman team last year and have a beter freshmen group coming in this year.

Manual returns pretty much their entire team from last season. I think they will be one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the 7th Region. Their weakness will be a lack of size with Thomas Chapman (6'4 290) deciding not to play this season. The Crimsons were a poor shooting team last season but have shot the ball really well this summer. I think they will go about 11 or 12 deep. I look for them to pressure teams for 32 minutes and use their quickness and athletes. That being said, all but about 5 kids they will be counting on will be playing football. So they wont be available until late November. By tournament time Manual will be one of 4 or 5 teams that could win the region. Below is the way I see the region after the summer. This is just my opinion. Dominique Chandler Jr. great shooter especially from the corners. Stuart Jackson Jr. 6'4 nice player solid defender can also shoot. Deangelo Russell Soph. 6'3 maybe top sophomore in state. Jamie Johnson 5'9 Soph. Small in stature but big in heart and skill will run the team.

I'm hearing it may be someone who beat them last season and it's not Couch.

I'm hearing Larry Miller (Moore) turned down the Male Job, and that Matt Lemon (Seneca) will be named the new coach at Male very soon. If this is true, then coach Lemon has been very fortunate because its my understanding that Miller turned down the Seneca job so they would give it to Lemon. Now he turns Male down and Lemon gets it. Just the scuttlebutt i'm hearing.
