  1. They Farm Bureau Classic typically has a couple of highly regarded teams from around the country...
  2. Was told that Tates Creek beat SV by 11 in the championship.
  3. SV and Tates Creek to meet in the Championship at 2:20. SV defeated Scott County in one semifinal. Tates Creek defeated LCA in the other.
  4. Raymond Justice, who coached at Letcher Central and Belfry before that. He replaced Ratliff.
  5. This is coming from a parent who was there, so hopefully it is accurate. The parent said SV beat Bath pretty easily (supposedly the score was reset every quarter), and beat Scott County by 13. The parent said SV won every quarter except for the 4th. I was also told that Ashley Hatfield was injured, but I don't the extent.
  6. I found out that SV plays Bath County and Scott County tonight at Bath County and GRC and Henry Clay tomorrow at GRC.
  7. Any idea when and where the Shelby Valley game is?
  8. As long as Hillard Howard is involved with the football program, it will be priority #1 at LCC. Not saying that the basketball program won't be successful (see Hazard), but the kids that are "athletes" will be playing for Howard on the football field...
  9. LCC has a few good younger groups coming up over the next few years... It appears though that LCC may primarily be a football school, and alot of these players are football players also.
  10. Where do they do the fireworks?
  11. I worked with a girl that was on The Bachelor a few seasons ago...
  12. Will this be your first home purchase?
  13. Thanks for all the suggestions. We are currently leaning towards Addison Elizabeth, and our last name is Davis, so it seems to go together okay. We do have some other names on our "list", so it's possible that we may look at her and decide on something else... Again, thanks for all the ideas.
  14. Martin has a long way to go to be a D1 caliber player, but he does have a very nice shot. He needs to work on his strength primarily, and his ballhandling needs work. He is one of the top juniors in the 15th...
  15. I just found out that my wife and I will be having a girl (our 1st child). She isn't due until October, but does anyone have any suggestions for names?
  16. Betsy Layne loses their top post player in Josh Head, but returns a good junior-to-be class led by Nathan Martin. I expect BL to be at the top of the 58th District, but only in the middle of the pack in the 15th...
  17. Sorry, I didn't mean to say you were putting him down. I meant to just use your quote about the 28 shots to say he hardly ever shoots anywhere near that much.
  18. I can't remember another game this season where he even took 20 shots (it may have happened, but I can't remember it). That is not his game and he is as unselfish as any player you'll see. He averages 17+ points, but could easily average 22-25 if he shot more. The way I saw it was that he either felt that was the only way to keep them in the game, or someone on the coaching staff told him he had to do more of the scoring. Whether he had an off game or not, Elisha is still one of the top players in the state and anyone who wouldn't want a winner like him on their team doesn't know much about basketball. It was obvious to most at Rupp that he had the best handles of anyone there, and even being double teamed, managed to split it at will (even though he didn't finish a lot of them). Even on a 9-28 night, he still gave them a chance to win that game. The missed layup with 27 seconds left down 4 hurt badly, but what do you say when he was the main reason you were there and had such a magical season to begin with? Elisha is the ultimate team player and will do whatever it takes to help the team win, whether it means scoring 4 or 40.
  19. Shelby Valley returns some nice players, but will have no depth and little size next year. They will still have a good team, but not top 10 in my opinion.
  20. The Faulkner's are great players, but certainly are not 6'2''. No possible way.
  21. You are 100% correct. Nobody from E-town touched the ball once it went into the backcourt, but the referee totally choked. What an awful time for an official to make such a terrible call, and in the state championship game. I couldn't believe that the E-town coaching staff didn't go crazy over that one. The announcers of the game didn't really say anything about it either... Totally blown call...
  22. If Elliott and Mason both bring large crowds then Thursday night should have big attendance numbers... Also, Shelby Valley has had probably their biggest crowds this season, but Lexington is a long way from Robinson Creek...
  23. And I don't mean which team will the Rupp crowd get behind, because I know most would fully expect that to be Elliott County...
