Here's the beauty of the Sweet 16. The four teams that have the smallest enrollments all have really good chances to win their opening-round games.

Pretty amazing a school the size of Hazard can have such success in both basketball and football like they do.

My thoughts exactly when I saw those enrollment numbers.:thumb:

I've always admired the Hazard sports program and it just goes to show you that you can do a lot with a little when you work for it.:notworthy:

Thank goodness there's a school smaller than "tiny Elliott County"

Hazard is an independent city school that serves the city of Hazard. Elliott County has only 1 public high school that serves the entire county. Elliott also has a very small private christian school that has maybe 10 students 9-12.

I think most of us are aware of the dynamics. What is your point?

Simply pointing out some census and facts about these 2 schools.

I, of course, will be cheering for Elliott, but if my Lions lose then my support will always be for any small school to win it all.

Barbourville has an enrollment of less than 200 and has a history of some pretty good basketball teams.

I really dont understand some of you on this board. If you dont want to hear or read about Elliott Co, like you make it sound in post like this, why do you click on their threads and read them? Makes no sense to me.:idunno:

No wonder there is an All A Tournament. Thanks to Stan Steidel for making the All A Classic a reality many years ago!:notworthy:

I just wonder what is the largest (enrollment) school in the 15 and 16 regions!
