  1. Perry Central has a very solid team. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them come away with the victory...
  2. Justice led the way with 25 points. Betsy Layne was led by Nathan Martin with 19 points.
  3. Shelby Valley outscored Pikeville in the 3rd 33-5. Hatfield led the way with 23 points.
  4. Parker had a nice game... I think he put up around 20 points. He has a very broad and strong upper body. The other two appeared to be more lean physically.
  5. And it will probably move to 2-4, as I'm told their next opponent is Findlay Prep the #1 team in the country...
  6. Here are links to the rivals page on three of Miller Grove's players... http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Donte-Williams-73314 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Henry-Brooks-73362 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Tony-Parker-73304
  7. Tonight at the East KY Expo Center in Pikeville. The game was at 7:30. Pitino was there to see Justice from Shelby Valley and in the last game Michael Chandler and Ryan Taylor from Lawrence North (IN).
  8. Elisha Justice put up 33 points (27 in the 2nd half) to lead SV over the defending 5A state champion from Georgia. Very nice win for the SV program. Also, Rick Pitino and Walter McCarty were in attendance to watch the game.
  9. It should be a good matchup between sophomore PG BJ Moore from Sheldon Clark and Elisha Justice. I don't think Sheldon Clark has the offensive weapons to stay in this one, so look for SV to win this one by a decent margin...
  10. Perry Central has a very solid team. Hatcher does a tremendous job with the talent he has...
  11. Final from Shelby Valley. Justice led the way in scoring with 23 (I think). Dunbar fought hard, but SV was able to extend the lead in the second half. With had a nice game for Dunbar. Will a mod please edit the final score to read 74-52 (typo on my part)...
  12. I noticed that Chad Jackson had 9 turnovers for SC. That's quite a few for a point guard of his caliber.
  13. SV doesn't have nearly the size they had last year, and I do think finding a secondary ball handler may be an issue, but to say Justice doesn't have good help around him is unfair to the other players. Ashley Hatfield is widely considered the 2nd best player in the region. Tyler Newsome, Taylor Newsome, and Cody Varney are all very solid contributors. The gap in the 15th has narrowed between SV and the rest of the field, but IF SV brings their A game then the 15th is theirs to lose...
  14. At times, but not primarily. Cottrill couldn't stay in front of Justice and didn't really seem to buy in on the defensive end. Also, Justice guarded Cottrill on only a few possessions. SV tried to guard him with taller defenders, but that obviously didn't work given that he put up 43 points...
  15. Not alot. The game was played with ten minute quarters. Shelby Valley had no answer for Cottrill and Logan had no answer for Justice. Shelby Valley had a clear advantage on the interior. Logan has a nice team, and they really rely on the three point shot. This was a very fun game to watch.
  16. Final from the Fast Lanes Tipoff Classic from Inez. Clark County had a couple of looks from 3 in the last 10 seconds, but were unable to connect...
  17. Final from the Fast Lanes Tipoff in Inez... Sewell led the way for the Shamrocks with 23...
  18. Perry Central returns an experienced and talented team. They do not have alot of size, but have a nice PG a couple of good shooters. They also added a transfer from Hazard that I expect to see quite a bit of playing time. As with most Coach Hatcher teams you can expect them to slow the pace and try to control the tempo of the game. They should be a competitive opponent for Clark Co.
  19. And a capable point guard, and a very good kid as well. :thumb:
  20. My understanding is that Pitino said Justice reminds him of Travis Ford, but said Justice does alot of things better than Ford. They stressed to him that they really need a backup PG. Pitino said they are in the worst shape at PG they have been since he's been a Louisville. They commented that his quickness impressed them, and they really like that he is so strong with his left hand dribble.
  21. I agree that they have one of the best PG's in the state, but I don't agree that they have great size. They lost two major players from last year's team in 6'10" Deven Adams and 6'7" Curby Tackett. This year they will probably start 5'10" and 6'1" guards, 6'5" and 6'6" forwards, and a 6'3" center. That is decent size for the mountains, but not so much statewide.
  22. IMO this SV team won't be nearly as good as last year's team. They lack the size and depth to repeat what they did last year. The will still be capable on any given night to play with most teams in the state, but I don't think they will be as consistent. They may actually have a better offensive team, but rebounding and defense will a step below where they were last year.
  23. Here is a link about the nationals. The writer mentions Elisha and how impressed he is with him. http://www.hoopsreport.com/news/even...sfromnationals
