WV beats Henry County 6-3 in a somewhat sloppy game for the Bearcats. WV faces Anderson County tomorrow night in the second semifinal game of the 8th Region tournament at Gallatin County. Gallatin Couny faces Oldham County in the first game tomorrow night.

Boone County beats Walton-Verona (or just Walton as the PA guy kept saying) 7-6 in an error filled game for both teams. WV scored 2 in the top of the first to take an early lead. Boone scored 2 in the bottom of the 4th to tie the score. In the bottom of the 5th, Boone pushed two more runs across to take a 4-2 lead. In the top of the 7th with two out and nobody on, WV rallied to score 4 runs to take a 6-4 lead headed to the bottom of the 7th. Boone followed suit with a rally of their own and scores 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to take the W - 7-6. It was fun watching these two pitchers work. Dallis Knotts from Boone County and Hannah Thacker from WV are both excellent pitchers. The score does not indicate their pitching performance as both teams had a lot of trouble fielding the ball.

Walton-Verona plays the winner of Pikeville/Cumberland County tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.

Walton-Verona ended the day with a win against Middlesboro 8-4 to go 3-0 on the day.

I'm not picking on Lloyd High School but I find it interesting that they recieved zero votes in the Northern Kentucky top 10 coaches poll but yet received eleven votes in the coaches poll for the State top 25. :idunno:

Congrats to WV. Pretty well played game for Coach Gregg's team dispute the 30 mph winds in Trimble County. It was a tad breezy!

Couldn't have been a bad hot dog but possibly some bad information. I wasn't at the game so I can only go by the stats I was told. Obviously, there is a big difference between 3 hits and 8 hits...so who knows. Congrats to Bracken on the win.

Bracken County had one hit....a home run. Walton-Verona had 8 hits and several walks but couldn't push one across. Bracken did what they needed to do to win.

You make some very valid points as well as also clearly pointing out a major problem. Letting a 12-13 year old decide where they want to go to high school because of who they played AAU ball with is a major mistake. I'm not saying it doesn't ever work out but lots of times those decisions may be regretted in the future.

Coach Trame is a good baseball coach. It was refreshing seeing a coach make situational adjustments during the game. The SS from Scott (Spatta?) made several really nice plays.

I stand corrected. Hard to tell here with no scoreboard. Beautiful day at the ballpark!!!

That was awesome! Kyle was another BCHS reject that made the daily commute out to WV in the late 80's.

Certainly does....was an excellent player at Walton-Verona.
