This game will likely start later than the scheduled 1am start time due to it being the 8th game of the day. I would probably think more towards 2 am.

I think the one thing we can agree on is Mason County wouldn't be much without the big 3 and true they have enjoyed success and still can get it done, but as leaders on the floor, they must ignore wanting to feel fatigued and get it done in their last year.

Disagree once again to set the record. They have problems playing defense for 4 quarters against quality opponents, and that all falls back on desire and passion.

I am not and have never disputed that, we will agree to disagree as far as our thoughts concerning this conversation. Keep this in mind though, kids don't get tired when they have success, its when the going gets tough, is when the shell gets bigger.

The win that year in 2000 was great, the reward was a big ole blizzard from Dairy Queen for Coach Robin Kelsch;)I am telling you the guy can flat coach and I am a huge fan of what he has accomplished at Augusta.

Disagree. The big three got a combined 13 minutes of rest today and no player was above 3 fouls. This has to do with conditioning, and being disciplined in conditioning and being hungry. Mason didn't press today, kids that want something bad enough don't have the time to get tired. You couldn't drag the kids off the floor back in the 80's at Mason County because they wanted the ultimate prize and achieved it several times during this era. Kids don't get tired if things go right for them but when things get rough, pressure kicks in, sometimes kids tuck their heads and run and hide in a shell. If you have the passion to go out and dominate, you don't get tired. That is a crutch and one that is wore out!

Several things here concerning the Mason County Lady Royals. The start of the regular season leading up to the Lexington Catholic tournament the past couple of years has presented no competition and generally has led to lopsided wins versus their opponents. The Lady Royals then go to the holiday tournament in Lexington and play half the game and then can't put together four quarters against top notch teams. The conditioning and discipline on defense seems to lose focus as the time goes deep into the game. Of course the younger kids have a deer in the headlight look against this competition but it didn't sound like those younger kids hurt Mason County when they were in there. Discipline on defense lacks for 4 quarters and I believe that is the major problem. Everyone knows they can score and put points on the board, but defense wins games.

Nice win for Coach Kelsch and the A-town gang. Tough times in Pendleton County and Coach Simms.

Cutting down on turnovers is a must, can't win many games when you have the same amount of points as turnovers. Understandably if you are a young club, then hard times will be experienced. When you have veterans on the floor then this is a bit disappointing. The future is there and for success now and down the road, experience with that future is a must. JV kids played hard to gain the win, disciplined, and love to utililize the skills, talent, and togetherness that has brought success to those kids over the last several years. Best of luck over the holidays to the Lady Bears.

These kind of games a coach needs to put in the underclassmen to get valuable playing time. How much playing time did they receive? I tallied up 33 of the 80 points.

mhighfield needs to be in Hawaii, the scoreboard tonight on the web which gave everyone updates. Anyone that gives that many updates in a game that was as far out of reach as this one deserves a ticket to Hawaii. How can we get this guy over there?
