Some things can be controlled while others can't. What can be controlled is you tuning in(or not tuning in) and what can't be is moving the radio guy.

Disagree with you. Parking at Montgomery County is simply not on the plentiful side, concessions and space are not accomodating, and hospitality room is a mile and half long to get to. Maybe restrooms I can slightly agree with, heck you put a new toilet in any facility and it will be better than an old one. This will all be exploited and settled after their try in March. Facilities at Montgomery can't comfortably accomodate your media outlets which I think I seen at the fieldhouse last year 5 groups of media radio stations. They(Montgomery) have a new facility and will get their try. I thought the remark in the paper was a punch in the gut, especially after Mason's AD complimented Montgomery County on being great administrators and will do a fine job. The only thing he questioned was accomodating crowds which he has first hand knowledge of after hosting for so many years.

Mason County freshman ran their record to 12 and 1 with a 40 to 27 victory over Montgomery County. Treg Setty led the Royals with 13, Jeris Carver added 11 .

You need to go back then and research a little further because in 1992 Mason played Nicholas and it was sold out at the Fieldhouse. Pendleton finals was the most recent game you remember but not the ONLY one in terms of your statement.

Nick Anderson is playing extremely well and along side his backcourt teamate Chris Owens. Anderson can get to the hole and finish with the best of them. The kid has huge upside to him and will make a nice small college player if he decides to pursue basketball. Owens is solid, smart on the floor, and can fill it up from anywhere. Top 5 player in the region. D. Miller is Mr. Basketball, hands down. Setty and Middleton are a great 1-2 punch, those three have lived up to the billing. Shooty from A-TOWN is a workhorse, my kind of player, does all the dirty work and can put points on the board. Coach Kelsch has a special player. I think he might even work the best concession stand on his off nights. Mofford is a great supporting cast for Staggs and can finish around the rim. If A-TOWN can develop some consistent guard play, look out in the All A. I like Josh Clark from Montgomery, what a passion he brings to the floor on both sides of the ball. I love his efforts, although not the most skilled player, he makes up for that loss with a lot heart, energy, and passion for the game. Yes Gold one, Robbie Stenzel is a special talent, ice water in his veins for a freshmen, will break some records at GRC before he is done. Bennett is a nice support for the Cardinals. Kyle and Luke King make watching the Deming Black Devils pretty exciting. If Deming could get anything out of the post, they become a team that could make it to the Fieldhouse(oops) to Montgomery County come March. Everyone that I have mentioned have either met the expectations or exceeded. Some great talent in the 10th.

IMO he stands around to much watching the big three do their thing. He needs to move around when the Faulkners are penetating the gaps and spotting up on the arc looking for the kick out and 3. Defensively, IMO he is average, might be because of the minutes logged during the course of the game. Elliott needs to develop their bench if they are going to press for 32 minutes. The boys will have no legs in March when it counts. Only solid contributor off the bench is Maynard, and I think he should start.

I see 2 starting for Mason, but what a loaded bench.:

Elliott gambles way to much on defense,that is why disciplined teams will eat their press alive and shoot layups(COVCATH). The Knipp kid in the middle is a liability on defense, he just stands behind his man on the block, never tries to front. The good teams will exploit this weakness on Elliott. Fleming Co. played well for 25-26 minutes. The Panthers shot 54% from the field as oppossed to 48% for Elliott. The Panthers also outrebounded Elliott 23-19. The end result was to many turnovers by the Panthers. I think they had 35 for the game as oppossed to 19 for Elliott. Elliott has 3 solid players in the Faulkner twins and Ferguson. Ferguson might be the best jump shooter in the state, but make him put it on the floor to beat you. Do not see anyone beating Elliott in the 16th. I cant wait to see them and Mason play, it should be a dandy.

Maggie Prewitt is a solid player and you can tell that by looking at her. You can tell that she eats, sleeps, and breaths basketball. She has been a solid player for Montgomery County. They go as far as that young lady takes them, she has the ability to take over a game at any point and dominate.

Like any other sport, HS girls basketball, played at an elite level, is very enjoyable to watch. That must explain why there is such a lack of attendance at Mason County games, a team that has held a state ranking last season, this season, has 3 of the top players in the region, yet you take the band away from the games and it looks like for the most part a empty gym. You walk across the street to a St. Pat girls game and you find the place full.
