It wasn't. The subject only came up when a Cov fan claimed that they would beat Ryle at this point in the season.

There were three ball carriers that averaged over nine yards per carry against Cov. That game was won up front. Elliot had 240 of the 611 yards rushing for that evening.

Cov is 5A and Ryle is 6A. They won't play again this year. I am not trying to disrespect Cov or how far many of their young player have come. I am simply saying that I don't think they could beat Ryle this year. For this season, Ryle is better up front than Cov.

I disagree. Tax money is raised and spent on schools. A stadium is part of a school, and something that I think schools should have on sight.

I don't understand your point about not using tax dollars. Tax dollars are used to build public facilities, including stadiums. Why should tax dollars not be used unless everyone gets to use the new stadium?

It still comes down to your complaint being based on travel deep in the playoffs. That is part of playing high school football.

Once again, I feel as though this is a ridiculous argument. Privates have no right to use public facilities. If you want a child to be able to use your local public school's facility, they should attend the public school. Otherwise, private schools should pay to use the facilities and it should be up to the district to decide to let them.

This is a ridiculous line of thinking. You make the choice to go to a private school. A private school has no right to public facilities. You are making the choice not to get benefit out of your tax dollars.

How many practices have you attended? Ryle has started their own younger team- Union Raiders to develop that talent. It doesn't start at the Freshman or JV level. The feeder system would have been started years ago like HHS but was not allowed. The Ryle staff does care about the JV games. One thing that might clue you in is Coach Warner has missed one JV game in the past 8 years because of the birth of his son. How many head coaches have attended that many JV games? By the way, Coach Warner has an open door policy if you have an issue you would like to discuss with him. Good luck to all on this site the rest of the season!

This is false. The OC being referred here is still in a Co-Coordinator role. Coach Warner, Coach Teegarden and Coach Woolf have an excellent relationship as well as the entire staff. The Raiders are heading in the right direction. Coach Teegarden will be on the field during the Cooper game along with Coach Demetrakis because they have the ability to make adjustments with the offensive line that will greatly benefit the success of the offense. Coach Warner and the staff understand the final play-call will come from Coach Warner but he filters input from several staff members during games including Coach Teegarden since he is the Co-Offensive Coordinator. Coach Warner believes it is "Our Team" not his team and he believes his staff members are doing an outstanding job including Coach Teegarden.

Conner Hempel has received a full football scholarship offer from Western Kentucky University who has officially joined the Division 1 scene. He is also being heavily recruited by Indiana, Toledo, Northwestern and Louisville. He is 6'2" barefoot, weighs 210 lbs. and bench presses 300 lbs. Recruiters are surprised by his size when they see him in person. He will receive more offers.

Coach Marksberry is doing an outstanding job with their program. He has turned a perennial non-competitor into district champions and contenders for state championships in the toughest district in the state. He has surrounded himself with excellent people to coach their players and they had a legitimate shot at the state championship this past season. He has worked his tail off to get great facilities and improve every aspect of his program. However, noone knows what could have been accomplished in 2009 with a better non-district schedule. Simon Kenton got down early vs. St. X. When they realized that they could physically dominate them upfront and they were the better team, it was late in the second quarter. Could they have been better prepared to start that game if they had played Highlands in the regular season? Not many people have stepped up to play Highlands because that is a very tough win and Highlands has destroyed teams in the past. I have trouble believing that game couldn't have been scheduled simply because Highlands doesn't have many people knocking on the door to play. Regardless, Simon Kenton is an outstanding program and Coach Marksberry is an outstanding coach. It may or not have made a difference but I bet you see Highlands on their schedule in the near future. In closing, Simon Kenton had two great back to back seasons and they will be a big contender for years to come! IMO, someone in NKY 6A football will compete for a State Championship in the near future. The 6A teams are just getting closer every year but preparation in the off-season and a great non-district schedule is the key component (IMO!)

Owen Mace Warner was born at 5:15 a.m. on 10-3-09. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 ounces. His length was 20 and 1/2 inches. Amanda told Coach Warner at the end of halftime she thinks her water broke and she would text him for sure. It was confirmed and he exited the stadium immediately to leave with her to go to the hospital (Christ Hospital so they were close). Owen was named after Coach Warner's father-in-law who did some great fundraising and provided his farm for their annual Father-Son Senior Leadership Camp. He unfortunately passed away in May with Cancer. The Doctors believe Owen muttered at delivery "Beat SK" but did say usually newborns do not talk. However it is for sure that Owen cannot wait to witness the big matchup on Fox Sports and he will be wearing orange and black!
