I knew before the game started this one would be all Trinity. St. X didn't pass the "look test." Normally the X is "Manstown" but tonight X looked normal.

 

Additionally, no offense to speak of and Trinity's young skilled players had their way with X.

 

With T being young and X being normal is this the beginning of the end for the Tigers? The consensus tonight among both T and X supporters was X is in trouble against Trinity in the near future.

While I feel that we certainly have the momentum for the next few years, X has to do some soul searching. Will they find the correct answer? I doubt it.

Not even close. Trinity got shellacked in 1995 40-0 and we obviously came back. I don't think X has anything to worry about. They did look flat and shell shocked tonight, but that probably has more to do with the fact that they aren't used to being scored on like that.

I just can't see it. I've always felt (and maybe this is my youth speaking) that Trinity was the better program, but St. X will get their share as well. They have too much tradition, talent, resources, etc. for them to be down for that long. They will be back, and get their share of victories and championships.

I agree with you. Last year Trinity had some problems and just lost to a better team. That was a bad St X team last night. That said, it isn't the end for St X. They will come back. They have been playing second fiddle to Trinity for most of the last 40 years. That part won't change, but they will be much better than the team we saw last night. In fact, I expect them to be much better before the end of this year.Does this X team have some chemistry problems? I keep thinking about some of the comments from Hall in the paper and on the news. His goals for the season seemed to all center around interceptions and touchdowns. Personal goals instead of team goals. Makes you wonder.

I know X is at a raw talent disadvantage, but they killed themselves with mistakes. If I recall correctly from the stats, they had 3 int and a lost fumble, as well as 5 total fumbles (which usually result in lost plays).

2004, wasn't a good year for us, we had chemistry issues, were complacent, etc...

 

2003, even at 0-4, we knew we'd win state, things just were weird in regards to the losses.

I am told that X scored their final TD in 1995's 40-0 win on a "go" route in the 4th qtr. That seems like running up the score & padding your stats. T scored their last TD of the game when their back-up QB (actually their #3 or 4 QB) handed off to their back-up RB basically up the middle. If you cannot stop that i just don't see how that is running up the score. Seneca will probably play T closer than X did.

St.X is down and will be down again next year but will still be able to compete with everyone on the schedule except T. The Tigers will be back in a couple of years we are talking about a program that has won 12 state titles and at least one in each of the last 6 decades and that my friend is sustained excellence and will never change!

St.X is down and will be down again next year but will still be able to compete with everyone on the schedule except T. The Tigers will be back in a couple of years we are talking about a program that has won 12 state titles and at least one in each of the last 6 decades and that my friend is sustained excellence and will never change!
