Is this the beginning of the end for St. X?

Featured Replies

Its hard to beat a good team twice in the same season. I wouldn't be surprised if Ballard beats X/X loses to Male/X beats the Rocks...If they played these games again. Rocks will lose to Ballard!

X lost to Male 40-0 in 1986 and recovered to win the state championship that year.

Thank you AL.

Now we will just have to see about that won't we ?:D

Jim, I might go to that game..I'll be wearing my Bama shirt which has out 13 NCs on it. And matching hat.

We will be happy as usual to have you join us. YOu are always most welcome by your Rock Friends. Should be a good one --according to all the hype up to now. We still need to take them one at a time and not get ahead of ourselves.

Was it the beginning of the end for Trinity in 2005? I think not.

I think this is where we stand:

Large-class state titles:

2000: Male

2001: Trinity

2002: Trinity

2003: Trinity

2004: St. X

2005: Trinity

2006: Trinity

2007: Trinity

2008: Trinity

2009: St. X

True, this season is not over yet and perhaps Trinity won't win state in 2010, but judging from how well Trinity has been playing this year and the talent Trinity has in its sophomore and junior classes, we could be looking at 2010, 2011 and 2012 all being years when Trinity wins state.

At what point will the "Louisville Big Three" or the "Louisville Big Two" be known simply as the "Louisville Big One" (i.e., Trinity)?

Next thing is to give all the teams and players in the state "participation" trophies.

St.X is down and will be down again next year but will still be able to compete with everyone on the schedule except T. The Tigers will be back in a couple of years we are talking about a program that has won 12 state titles and at least one in each of the last 6 decades and that my friend is sustained excellence and will never change!

No way Guru. Trinity may be better then X for this year and maybe the next two years but X will be better than most everyone else. Too many football players go to X. X will just get bigger and faster players and may get a great quearterback. X was very good the last two years.
