  1. bballgirl says....Ryle did well to keep it close with number 35 on the bench but i just dont understand how you can say they know they can beat them when boone has came up with two wins in two tries... I say that because Ryle lost by 1 point with Crittendon on the bench for a long time... It's tough to beat a team three times in one season. Ask Highlands from two years ago...
  2. I agree. Actually Ryle did well to keep it close with her on the bench. Ryle knows they can beat them in the Regionals if they face them again. I think Moss gets too many free passes from the Refs based on her name/reputation.
  3. Great job by Ryle to keep this thing close with Crittendon on the bench in foul trouble. Had the ball in one of the two girls you hands you want it in for the last shot (Jump and Crittendon). It just didn't fall.
  4. Glad to see Hope Cutter was able to play and make significant contributions. I heard she was still nursing a foot/ankle injury. Best of luck to the HHS seniors...
  5. There have been coaches from several schools attending Conner games all year and talking with her and her parents after the games. Last I heard, she has not made up her mind yet where she will play.
  6. Not sure why she was pulled. She is a valuable member of that team!
  7. I doubt it. They know they can be dangerous. Some of the girls of the two teams are friends and there has been some light-hearted banter/car decorating going on. Hopefully it's a close game and Connor comes out on top!
  8. It happened a few nights ago during a 9th region game, while the game was in progress. Not the first time it's happened. I would think using their # would be more appropriate.
  9. Does anyone have an issue with Referees talking to players during a game and using their first names? "watch your hands Mary", or something like that?
  10. I agree about Kara. Conner will be fun to watch. Fischer can light up the board as well.
  11. Totally agree with the above. Congratulations Lauren! I was looking at some old pictures from about 6 years ago and saw Lauren playing ball back then. Always been a class act!
  12. Kara Taulbee is playing really well. There are several who get varsity playing time and will only get better... Chelsea Castleberry, Kayla Massey, Amanda Ray, Dawn Peacock, Sidney Watts to name a few. Very strong Sophomore class.
  13. To be honest with you, I didn't see that foul. I do know that during the break in play there was a foul called on a Conner girl. At the same time or maybe after the initial foul, there was a foul called on Towles. Thought it was a technical. I do know Conner sent Fischer (I think) to the line to shoot two free throws and then Conner got the ball back.
  14. I don't know. I know she's had ankle problems before. She's a great young lady and if she's out any time she will be missed!
  15. IMO, a turning point of the game was with Conner down by 6 points, Towles was caught throwing an elbow to the face of Gilbreath. She was assessed a technical foul and Conner made the three throws. They got possession and scored, then had a stop and scored again to tie the game. Conner's defense was much better than in the first game. Although Allen scored 16 or so points she was hounded all night by Beasley who had several blocked shots on her. Allen did have several steals in the game and converted on several. Sorry to see Cutter go down with an ankle injury. Her presence would have helped Highlands.
  16. Not sure what the final was; 54-50; something like that. Conner was down by about 15 in the first quarter... Great team effort by the Lady Cougars.
  17. That's awesome! or something that would release a nauseating smell when burned...
  18. "it is what it is" doesn't answer his/her question...
  19. Conner has Fischer (Jr.), Castleberry (Soph) and Taulbee (Soph) coming up in a talented group of kids.
  20. I'm not really sure. They set good screens for their point guard. If you can get the defender of the girl setting screens to "hedge?" out on the point guard to cut her off and keep her from penetrating until the defender can catch back up to her, it will help with her penetrating and giving the easy dish off to Moss. Easier said than done because Sandlin is very quick. Even with a weak side defender doubling up on Moss when she gets the ball, Moss is hard to stop. You also have to keep Strout from getting up three point looks. She will hit them if left open. IMO, Moss should have had several fouls called on her when Conner drove the lane and put up shots, but the refs didn't see it the way the Conner fans did! That would have helped if Moss was sitting on the bench. Boone did what they had to do to win. Conner played one of their better games of the year and gave them some confidence against a great Boone team. BTW, keep up the great pictures, PaNDA!
  21. Conner led by 2 at the half. Moss did a lot of damage in the second half, Conner couldn't stop her. Sandlin did a good job of feeding her the ball. Conner played without their leading scorer (Fischer) who was out all week sick.
  22. My son doesn't need to spend near the time or money I did at the Family Dog, Sutters Mill, and First Street. I spent some time on Thursday nights at the above establishments during the early 80's!
