Sometimes good players just jell as a team and have outstanding seasons!

I'm not saying this is the case, because I don't know your circumstances... sometimes parents think their daughter/son should be playing more than what they time they do get on the floor. it's hard to know what a coach is thinking and why they do things. Is the fact that the coaches daughter isn't playing college ball because she isn't talented enough or that she doesn't want to?

My daughter played on a club with the rare situation of the coach not playing favorites with his daughter. I would bet though that most situations aren't like that.

Go through downtown Gatlinburg, then past the visitors center. Another mile or so is the Mounds campground/picnic area. Take a lunch basket with you and you can pull into a spot, grill burgers and dogs or whatever. Then you and your kids/family walk over to the stream running along side the picnic area. Ice cold water coming down from the mountains the kids love it!

Too bad Moss isn't at Ryle!

Does anyone have a box score for the Sr. game played last week at Scott High School? Also, by chance does anyone have video of the game or know where I can watch the video on the web? Thanks.

I had heard that both Heather and Joscelyn were going to play for Berea.

The coaching position was posted on the Board of Education web site yesterday, I believe.

If you don't know what's going on, how can you say Boone and Ryle wouldn't have similar issues... There could be an appeal process that has to run its course. I expect something will be announced pretty soon.

North of town is a place called Red Rocks (not the amphitheater) but really a pretty neat place to drive to. it's about 30-40 minutes out of town and you drive a 4 mile loop or something through the cliffs. Lots of people do rock climbing out there.

It's tough to know what's going on when you aren't involved...

Maybe to keep Crittendon out of foul trouble? My thought is that was a huge missed layup by Ryle with them down by four points late in the game. Given, one play does not lose the game, but that was BIG.

I've seen the AD at the girls games, but haven't seen the principal there this year.

Keep in mind that being a "great" player doesn't translate into being a great or even a good coach. Also, let's talk in generalities and not in respect to the situation at Conner, but sometimes it could be necessary for parents (or players) or others close to the program to speak up, true? What if the administration doesn't know what goes on at games, at practice or in the locker room? What if a coach isn't doing what he/she is supposed to be doing or has lost interest, should the parents just sit tight and let it happen? Again, I'm not saying this is or isn't the situation at Conner, but everyone is jumping on parents for doing what they believe is the best interest of their children. There is a good way to voice concern and a bad way...

Coach Warfield had a good run at Conner and coached a pretty good team which no one picked to do anything to the 9th Region Championship. Best wishes to Coach Warfield!

I thought it was interesting that Fookes had the girls foul Ryle at the end of the game up until they were going to get into the bonus situation. What is the reasoning behind this? They weren't going for the steal; just fouling. It obviously worked... was it so Ryle wouldn't have a long time to set up a play? BTW, congrats to all the girls from Ryle and Boone (and the district all tournament members). Both teams deserve to play for the 9th Region Championship!
