With four minutes to go in a very close game, I told my daughter that this is the point in the game when the money players need to take over the game for their team. That is exactly what Bradley did for Boone. She was money down the stretch. Congratulations to Coach Fookes and the Lady Rebels.

As we bid ado to the 16th Region Refs and close the cover on the 9th Region Girls basketball Tournament I would be remiss without congratulating the Boone County Rebels and wish them great luck and even more great basketball at Diddle.

Absolutely gutsy performance by Sandfoss tonight. She had a broken hand and played with it.

Do you think that the broken hand hindered Sandfoss' performance or output in any way ? :cry:

Sanfoss got fouled alot both nights and friday night must have been near 100 % shooting the free throws. Last night missed the 1st one almost every time then made the 2nd one. Friday night at crunch time she would drive to the basket, make the basket or make the free throws. Last night seemed she didnt want the ball to drive to the basket. I thought maybe with the bad hand she was afraid of turning it over on a drive, or just knew she couldnt do it. I do respect her for giving her all with the injured hand, and being on the front row at the game I saw the look of pain on her face several times when catching the ball and when bumping into other players.

She was hurting the entire game but in the second half this play forced her to the sideline in significant pain. She returned to grit it out but just not able to be herself.

 

Boone played great and most probably would have won anyway, you just hate to see a key player have to finish the Championship game this way.
