Lauren is not only a great basketball player, but a fine young lady and has a great family as well... She plays AAU summer ball for the Cutter Hoopsters of Northern Kentucky.

I've known a 6th grader start on the freshman team before at Beechwood. Typically there's not enough girls to field a team from their own grade.

I heard her dad came into town, found out she wasn't playing and got her back on the team. She is a very good player and only a freshman this season.

Carly Radar is one of their guards and not only is she a pretty good player, but a fine person as well.

Any thoughts on the tournament which starts 12/2 and runs through 12/6?

I agree with you HJ. I've also had the pleasure to watch her grow over the last few years and she has turned into an excellent ball player. She has a fantastic family behind her and a big future ahead of her! She's also a great young person outside of basketball.

I heard the new High School, Cooper, was at the camp and struggled in at least one game, losing big. I can't imagine how hard it is to start a new program like that. Good luck to the new school and all the kids put in that position (opportunity?).

Not all. They will have one of the best Junior classes in the area this year... Allen, Cutter, Adler, Towles are all Juniors this coming year.

I agree with you. She has improved a ton over the last couple of years and will only get stronger. She played against girls almost 3 years older than her (and just as tall) in an AAU tournament this past weekend and held her own.

Congratulations to Coach Warfield. It's one thing to win the 9th region with a team everyone expects to be there, but not too many people (except maybe the Lady Cougars themselves) expected Conner to represent the 9th region this year.

I spoke to someone at ICN6 today and he told me tonight at 8PM and again Friday at 7PM.

Congratulations Lady Cougars! You played "Team" ball all year and you've earned a trip to the Sweet Sixteen!!! Does anyone know when ICN 6 will replay the game? Is there a web site that has their schedule?

I believe they beat Dixie twice (but Dixie lost tonight so that's a moot point), and they split games with Holy Cross. Conner won early in the year and lost not too long ago.

Congratulations Lady Cougars! A great defensive effort by everyone and some big baskets kept Highlands from getting back into the game.
