1. Knox Central (15-1 overall, 6-0 vs. 13th Region opponents)

The Panthers are rolling along with an eight-game win streak, and they still haven’t lost to an in-state team this season. Knox Central will face four tough opponents coming up with a road game against Harlan County Tuesday and another road game against Corbin Friday. They’ll host Frederick Douglass next week before hitting the road to face Knox Central.

2. Corbin (12-3, 6-1)

The Redhounds are winners of four straight since their loss to Knox Central. They’ll get a chance for some revenge Friday when they host the Panthers for the second time this season.

3. South Laurel (12-3, 5-2)

The Cardinals recorded two impressive wins this past week. They managed to hand defending 13th Region champion Harlan County its first 13th Region loss (58-47) and came back two days later to hand Clay County a 48-36 defeat.

4. Harlan County (13-2, 6-1)

The Black Bears suffered their first 13th Region loss last week against South Laurel and will face another region test on Tuesday against Knox Central.

5. North Laurel (14-2, 3-2)

The Jaguars could be playing the best basketball currently in the 13th Region. North Laurel’s offensive attack is one of the best in the mountains, and they’ll try to continue their success this week with road games against Red Bid, Jackson County and a matchup with Rowan County at George Rogers Clark.

6. Clay County (10-10, 5-3)

The Tigers are 3-5 during their last eight games, but don’t let that fool you. Clay County is improving each week, and will be a tough team to face once postseason play begins.

7. Jackson County (9-5, 3-3)

The Generals had a chance to show everyone they’re a team to watch out for last week, but dropped a 62-58 decision to Clay County. They’ve lost two region games in a row and will try to get back on track this week with regional games against South Laurel and North Laurel.

8. Lynn Camp (12-1, 7-1)

The Wildcats continue to win, and are the favorites to cut down their first-ever 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic 13th Region championship this week.

9. Bell County (10-4, 4-2)

The Bobcats dropped an 82-61 decision to Knox Central this past week, and will get tested again in the coming weeks with regional matches against both Harlan County and Lynn Camp.

10. Whitley County (5-11, 1-4)

I still have faith in the Colonels to turn things around. They’ve played a very tough schedule, and are beginning to get 100 percent healthy as well. Things don’t get any easier with games against South Laurel, Mercer County, Harlan County, Williamsburg, Clay County, Knox Central and corbin coming up.

11. Barbourville (7-8, 2-4)

The Tigers are a team to keep an eye on. They have the ability to win the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament championship.

12. Williamsburg (7-9, 5-6)

The Yellow Jackets are two wins away from winning the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament title. Coach Nick Napier’s squad continues to improve.

13. Middlesboro (7-8, 2-5)

The Yellow Jackets are a team that can sneak up on you. Don’t count them out in the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic tournament either.

14. Oneida Baptist (5-6, 3-6)

The Mountaineers are 1-1 since a three-work layoff.

15. Pineville (4-11, 1-7)

The wins aren’t there, but coach JD Strange’s Mountain Lions are slowly improving.

16. Red Bird (5-9, 1-7)

The Cardinals hoping to upset Barbourville today during first round action of the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament.

17. Harlan (1-11, 0-6)

It’s been a long season for the Green Dragons. They were eliminated in the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic Tournament after falling, 64-60, to Williamsburg on Sunday.
