Welcome to BGP Jester313 :thumb: I'm with ya... that match up should be a real good one next year.

^They didn't meet in the regular season this year. Any reason why? Wonder if they will schedule next season.

Strictly from a fan's perspective as my feelings do not deal with the play of the boys.

Other than everyone having room to get in today's two games showed the downside to having the tourney at the BOK.

Unlike the 7th region where not everyone could get tickets to the semi's the BOK does offer the ability to get in as a positive. You know you're getting a seat.

So, in my annual tradition which I know I'm in the minority and I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, bring back the rotation at Conner/Ryle/Holmes.

WHY????

WHY????

Atmosphere. Great atmosphere. It's lacking at the BOK.

The downside to going to regional/sectionals in Ohio always was that they were always played in big arenas such as the Shoe, or UDayton. The difference in 9th (or 10th) region tournaments' atmospheres was immediately apparent. Unfortunately the downside in playing in such a nice facility as the BOKC is the impersonality of the place, and the complete absence of the feeling of personal involvement.

IMO, all regional tournaments should be played at the Mason County Fieldhouse - perfect!!!!

But, like you Clyde/Roman Empire, I'm in the minority.

Atmosphere was horrible. I felt like I was watching a play or something.

I'd agree that they should send it back to Ryle/Conner/Holmes and maybe one more. Or start having the 10th Region Tourney up there every year (I know 9th Region has zero control over that). I say that being a 10th Region guy but I still would like to see the 10th Region played @ Mason Co. That place lacks zero atmosphere.

I think tipping off the semi's and the finals as 1:00 pm detracts from the atmosphere as well. Friday and Saturday nights are the way to go. (I'll leave it to deeper thinkers to figure out how to integrate this with the girls' games.) The smaller the gym the more electric the atmosphere. That said, I still prefer the Bank of Kentucky to getting crammed into Ryle/Holmes/Conner like sardines, if you get there early enough to find a seat at all. I'll take plenty of parking, chair back cushioned seats, restrooms and an A+++ scoreboard.

Newport Catholic has looked great in both of their Regional tourny games. The Breds just keep bringing wide bodies off the bench. Not many teams can match up. I think McQueary can expect to see waves of big men tomorrow. My crystal ball says early foul trouble for McQueary and a win for New. Cath.

I will take atmosphere over comfort/parking all day long.

I have to agree with the bolded. Good luck to both teams!

So if no Boone fans show up at one of the Ryle, Holmes or big local gyms? Still no atmosphere!

How does Boone Co not create a buzz for this game in their schools on Friday?

I believe Coopers gym may be as big as well but I like the BOK as it was hard to find a seat in the last couple of regional's at the high schools.

I'm a little on the fence but still on the BOK side. The convenience, comfort and big stage feel of the BOK win out for me. I agree that the smaller than hoped for crowds and subsequent lack of atmosphere have caused some doubt about the BOK for me. But the fact is I have not missed a regional since it moved to the BOK and I had attended very few regional games in the 10 years before because I didn't want to deal with the small arenas. I don't think I am alone. But I thought there were a lot more like me than what we are seeing at the BOK.

Year one at the BOK when we had joint games with Region 10 - that was great and what I expected to see every year with the bigger D1 quality arena.

The BOK is a great venue to watch a High School basketball Game . Tickets are reasonable , Seats are comfortable , parking is convienent and inexpensive, plenty of restrooms . They have killer chicken strips . As for the lack of atmosphere that is the individual school's fault . Get your students to attend . Come on people support your teams !

I agree, plus I believe it helps the winner get ready for Rupp, shooting in a bigger arena, etc..
