March 5, 201214 yr 15 million people taking their marching orders from Rush scares the dog-poo out of me.Jim, instead of being frightened of a private citizen that cannot raise my taxes or have any effect on my life, I tend to be dog-poo scared of elected officials who think they know better how to take care of me than I do under the guise of "for the common good". Or, the effect that those elected officials can have in convincing folks that only Guvmint can help them.
March 5, 201214 yr She didn't make her sex life anyone's business. She made the matter of female-specific healthcare an issue. I'm reminded of the days before mammograms an PAP smears weren't covered by insurance.Again, why should someone other than herself be responsible for paying for it?
March 5, 201214 yr Again, why should someone other than herself be responsible for paying for it? I'm still trying to understand what's confusing here. No one's asking for someone else to pay for it. People are asking for it to be covered under insurance.
March 5, 201214 yr I've agreed from time to time with some things Obama has said over the years. Does that make me an extension of him thus making him the voice of the right as well? Hardly. Just because some agree with his opinion on something doesn't make them disciples of Rush. You said disciple. Not me. I simply said Rush is the voice for the right and when people agree and say things he has said they become an extension of him. Intentional or not. You tell some right leaning people that you agree with some things that Obama has said and you'll be branded a socialist like the rest of us. You better watch who you say that to.
March 5, 201214 yr I'm still trying to understand what's confusing here. No one's asking for someone else to pay for it. People are asking for it to be covered under insurance.Again, we are at a point in our history and culture where people do not understand the basic concept of economics. Nothing is free, everything cost something. She is not asking for it to be covered out of her pocket, she wants it to " magically" be covered on her insurance plan, to basically be paid for by someone else, or her premiums will probably have to increase. It will cost someone, she prefers it not be her, or she would not be in the middle of the whole story.
March 5, 201214 yr It's fine that so many don't pay attention to what Rush says. But I have to question the validity of that claim by many who've posted in this thread, when their initial posts were to agree with Rush that the young ladys sex life was indeed our business because of her support of insurance covering birth control. How many posts do you count as having said that?
March 5, 201214 yr I'm still trying to understand what's confusing here. No one's asking for someone else to pay for it. People are asking for it to be covered under insurance. It shouldn't be covered if the insurance companies don't want to cover it. Neither should Viagara or anything for that matter. It should be up to the insurance providers what they choose to cover and what they choose not to.
March 5, 201214 yr Then why does it seem like most of the right leaning BGPers agree with what's said about Fluke? Even without listening to him a lot of people become an extension of him thus making him the voice of the right. Probably because you're reading more into posts than what is there.
March 5, 201214 yr Quite often actually. Congratulations! You're the one person out of 300 million in this country who can honestly (I assume) say that. Nobody calls guys those terms in a serious fashion.

March 5, 201214 yr Congratulations! You're the one person out of 300 million in this country who can honestly (I assume) say that. Nobody calls guys those terms in a serious fashion. Quite a few guys I know have the reputation of being "man-*****"....Doesn't mean they aren't good guys, just that I wouldn't trust my (hypothetical) sister with them.
March 5, 201214 yr Probably because you're reading more into posts than what is there. Could be. This thread started off about Rush running off at the mouth again to whether or not she is a **** to whether or not birth control should be paid for by health insurance and pretty much has the same sides against each other as always.
March 5, 201214 yr Couldn't the same argument be made for any and all maintenance meds?Yes, and the answer would be the same. Someone will have to pay for "it", whatever 'it" may be.
March 5, 201214 yr Yes, and the answer would be the same. Someone will have to pay for "it", whatever 'it" may be.So should insurance stop covering those meds as well?
March 5, 201214 yr So should insurance stop covering those meds as well? Insurance companies should cover whatever they choose to. It shouldn't be up to "us" to decide what they cover. If an insurance provider chooses to cover contraceptives and not Viagara, that's their choice, as is the reverse.
