skycvg Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Finally something Highlands cannot dominate. Oh wait, inside sources say that Mueller was placing an order for a new bass boat today!!!
Ram Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Is it going to be classed? I don't think the small schools can compete with the big private schools. Numbers do matter in a sport like this - the more lines you have the water the better chance you have of getting a big'n. That brings something to mind, maybe there should be two classes, "Small Mouth" and "Large Mouth". Highlands would of course be in "Large Mouth". Just joking, no emails please.
dd734 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 My sons want to go back to high school, lol I think it's a great idea. It can be a little tough for most students, having a boat to use puts you in the front of the line for making the team.

Oh wait, inside sources say that Mueller was placing an order for a new bass boat today!!! On a serious note: Dale is quite the fisherman, although he prefers bluegill fishing over bass fishing. He's as intense about bluegill fishing as he is coaching football. Really. My farm pond had become overrun with bluegill. He solved that problem for me.

I wonder how long it will be before Birdsfan will be reporting this post?

TAC Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Finally something Highlands cannot dominate. Oh wait, inside sources say that Mueller was placing an order for a new bass boat today!!! Once again Highlands may have the edge. There was talk recently of a new public boat ramp to the Ohio river down on route 8 in the boundries of Fort Thomas? Not sure if it is still going to happen has any one heard? I know Pendry park was another option.
tcjkbt Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Is the fishing going to be with poles or just hands?

I understand Dale recruits the best worms in NKY and they work harder than any worms in KY. The bluegills don't have a chance...
Eagle2013 Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Do the County Schools have an unfair advantage?

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the Ft. Thomas Youth Fishing League where every fisherman gets to use a baitcaster for at least 10 minutes.
Clyde Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Serious question that came up last night. Will it be bank fishing? I can't imagine the liability and costs associated with fishing from a boat.

He's as intense about bluegill fishing as he is coaching football. Really. My farm pond had become overrun with bluegill. He solved that problem for me. We would get along beautifully then. I would rather fish for bluegill than just about any other outdoor activity you can name. Flyfishing those farm ponds with top water poppers for bluegill in may/june is about as good as it gets. Plus they taste great.
Plato Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Billy Hicks will soon have another 800 wins. There is no question his passion for fishing dwarfs his love for basketball. And he wouldn't be on a bank or on a boat... He'll teach them to wade Elkhorn Creek.
