Dixie Heights 78 Holmes 61

Featured Replies

Brandon Hatton was amped up for this one. He had a monster first half and is my lock for POY in the 9th. Kid just takes over a game and Holmes had no answer for him. When he's in swag mode, watch out.

Hatton was the best player on the floor and I would be remissed if I didn't mention Hassel. I thought Hassel hit some big shots in the 2nd half to hold Holmes at bay. Dixie also got some nice minutes from some younger players in Daria and Neihaus. Nice win for Dixie.

Couldn't agree more. Hatton definitely POY IMO.

Hatton is a very talented offensive player no doubt, but Campbell is dominant on both ends. Would have to give POY to him because of that. Alot of season left however. Berger didn't hurt his chances over the weekend also.

I would give it to Burger before Campbell, however, Hatton would get it before both IMO. All three are very deserving. Can't go wrong with any of the three.

Hatton defended Dontel Rice pretty well last night....he is no slouch on defense. Hatton is POY....

Hatton didn't defend Rice until late and picked up 2 quick fouls. He is as good an offensive player as there is. He can score from anywhere and creates shots well with a quick release. He will have to get quicker and more technically correct defensively to move to an elite level. He is only a sophomore, though. The next level is about defense.

What do you mean by "until late"? Hatton was on Rice from the time Rafftery said "man-to-man".

Agreed. And if we are talking D1, also about scoring ability versus 6'2"+ athletes with quickness and hops.

The JV game winning shot.

I think you meant to say "fuzzy" I also see another BGP'er in that photo that looks to be enjoying the show.

Correct, I blame it on the "fat-finger effect", the s & z keys are right next to one another.

Congrats to Dixie. Margin of victory did surprise me. These two teams will make it to the regional tourney and a possible rematch could happen in the regional final.
