Buffalo Bobs off MT Zion should upgrade their TV's. They are pathetic to say the least. Wings are pretty Good but i digress. Pomps won't blow you away with the Food but the atmosphere is pretty cool, kinda makes ya feel like your in NYC.

 

I'd be curious if they can replicate that feel in a strip mall, or if they go a different route.

IMO, Buffalo Bobs is only good for their hot BBQ wings. Every time I've gotten their regular wings, the sauce was like grease and didn't stick to the wings. The rest of their food is the same frozen stuff I can buy next door at Kroger's. I'm surprised this isn't driven more by lack of business rather than simply moving. Every time I've been there or driven by, there has only been a few cars out front while BW3s is packed.

The food was so much better years ago when grandma made the food, now you can tell most of it is canned crap. Really gone downhill.

I totally agree with you and couldn't have put it better . It is very over priced mediocre ( at best ) Italian food .

I love Pomps b/c of the sauce and little bottles of Coke. However, my wife (from Kenton Co.) doesn't like it at all. Maybe it's a Campbell Co. thing? To KY Joe's comment abt the food being better when Grandma cooked it...that statement is probably true with anybody's Grandma when they cook Vs. Someone else. I do not think it tastes canned though. I will admit that I only get the spaghetti & meatballs and that is hard to mess up.

So what Italian restaurants are better than Pompilio's? Personally, I like Pomps. I like a lot of the dishes, especially the Tortellini and Lasagna. I like the white bread served. I like their Antipasto. A nice traditional Italian restaurant. Pomps is good for me and I can't think of any Italian place that I like better.

Maggiano's Little Italy, Trattoria Roma Ristorante, Buca di Beppo, Carrabba's, Pompilio's. In order for me.

But none of those are in Independence which will help them a lot.

I have eaten at Scotti's also and wasn't as impressed as everyone else seems to be. Actually, I was pretty disappointed based on my expectations.

The most consistently good Italian is Carrabbas. Easily the best chicken marsala.
