Pompilios Opening In Independence

Featured Replies

Pompilio's restaurant is going to open in Independence. Buffalo Bobs will be closing on Monday and they will take over and should be open by March.

My biased thoughts exactly.

The few occasions I've been there, I've been sorely tempted to drop a box of toothpicks and start counting.

Doesn't seem right.

Why is that? There is a bunch of Pompilio's that live in Independence.

So is this a second location? Please tell me they're not moving...I have a lunch appointment there on Tuesday.

Second location I am more mad that my favorite wing place is closing I will miss Buffalo Bobs!

I was wondering how Buffalo Bob's was going to fare with BW3 only a few hundred feet or so away. Honestly, I'm not sure how Pompilio's will fare out there if they don't drop their prices - talk about some overpriced mediocre Italian food... They won't have the "we had a movie scene filmed here over two decades ago" train to ride any more at that location either.

I'm not arguing that it's a bad business decision. I'm just saying that a Pompilio's anywhere other than Newport seems odd.

They always had business even with BW3's right there. The owners are moving to Florida from what I have heard.

I totally agree with you and couldn't have put it better . It is very over priced mediocre ( at best ) Italian food .

Hmm...that's interesting. I go to the location off Mt. Zion fairly regularly (two weeks ago was the latest I've been) and I haven't heard anything about that location closing. The same guy owns - or at least owned both locations. Maybe he sold one off and is closing the other or something like that??

I've never seen the big draw to Pompilio's. Have eaten there many times, my wife loves it. I think she has warm spot for them because her mom was working there 30+ years ago when she passed away. It will be close so I'm sure we will give it a try.

Buffalo Bobs off MT Zion should upgrade their TV's. They are pathetic to say the least. Wings are pretty Good but i digress. Pomps won't blow you away with the Food but the atmosphere is pretty cool, kinda makes ya feel like your in NYC.
