I'll take Dixie #1 and Holmes #2 and the rest of the field behind them.

You look to be correct..

I said at the beginning of the year Holmes was unanimous #2 behind Dixie and they would be legit threat to red colonels...they showed why tonight.

Dixie

Holmes

CovCath

Holy Cross

NCC

Boone County

Ryle

St. Henry

Cooper

Newport

After tonight's game of Holmes beating the Cross I give up!

Looks like several people may need to change their rankings already with Holmes beating Holy Cross tonight. Here is how I see things as of now:

1. Dixie

2. Holmes

3. CCH

4. Holy Cross

5. New Cath

6. Boone

7. St. Henry

8. Cooper

9. Ryle

10. Conner

11. Beechwood

12. Newport

13. Highlands

14. Lloyd

15. Ludlow

16. Villa Madonna

17. Bellevue

18. Dayton

19. Heritage

20. Covington Latin

1. Dixie

2. Holy Cross

3. Holmes

4. NCC

5. Boone Co

6. CovCath

7. St. Henry

8. Ryle

9. Cooper

10 Highlands

11. Newport

12. Conner

13. Lloyd

14. Ludlow

15. Villa

16. Bellevue

17. Dayton

I left out Beechwood. I would put them in between Highlands and Newport.

I'd say until someone beats Dixie in the 9th they are #1. The next 6-7 that are listed in most can go any way. It would not surprise me at all if Holmes loses to cooper on saturday after 2 emotional wins.

How would your 9th region rankings look at this point in the season?

1 Dixie Heights

2 Holy Cross

3 Newport Central Catholic

4 Boone County

5 Holmes

6 Covington Catholic

7 Ryle

8 St. Henry

9 Cooper

10 Connor

11 Newport

12 Highlands

13 Beechwood

14 Lloyd Memorial

15 Villa Madonna

16 Dayton

17 Ludlow

18 Bellevue

19 Heritage Academy

20 Covington Latin

After tonight I would just move Holmes from 5 to 2, and have the others fall one spot in line.

Boone ahead of CCH? Interesting.

Here is how I would currently rank the "Top 8":

1 Dixie Heights

2 Holmes

3 Covington Catholic

4 Newport Catholic

5 Boone County

6 Holy Cross

GAP

7a Ryle

7b St. Henry

7c Cooper

7d Conner

8a Beechwood

8b Newport

8c Highlands

8d Lloyd Memorial

On any given night, any of the 1-6 teams could beat each other. The "7th and 8th" place teams would have to play their best game of the year type games and catch the 1-6 teams on a bad shooting night to upset 1-6.

I'd go with the following after last night...

1. Dixie

2. Holmes

3. Holy Cross

4. Covcath

5. Newcath

6. Boone

After these 6 there's a significant drop off, IMO.

Agree with Walter, as I posted yesterday, there are 6 teams that can potentially win the region, no disrespect to the teams from 7 on back but they cannot win 3 games in a row in the regionals IMO.

Credit to the Bulldogs last night, they deserved to win and were the better team. HC will have to make adjustments in their gameplan if and when they play them again. Holmes may just be the 1 team in the region HC doesn't want to press and run with. Bulldogs guards were outstanding last night.

Straightshooter must not be an HC fan - lol...ranking them 6th at 14-2 and already beaten NCC. Interesting to say the least.

I'd go with the following after last night...

1. Dixie

2. Holmes

3. Holy Cross

4. Covcath

5. Newcath

6. Boone

After these 6 there's a significant drop off, IMO.

So did Holmes have a huge off night at Holmes the other night vs. CovCath, in only beating CovCath by 2 or did HC play so poorly last night at HC, that you think HC is better than CovCath?

I mean the CovCath vs. Holmes game was nip and tuck all night long, while the Holmes vs. HC game was never in doubt after halftime and the game was at HC. Do you honestly think Holmes would have won by 2 at CovCath Walter?
