West Virginia 70 Clemson 33

Featured Replies

All I could think last night is "that's why they're Clemson". They're built like an SEC team in terms of athletes and size, and they have moments most years that make them seem really good. But then the real team shows up.

WVU was very impressive last night as well.

I guess we know why the ACC didn't want West Virginia. Maybe people should start busting on ACC football instead of the Big East. Even the revamped Big East is a better football conference than the ACC.

A lot can happen when you have a month to prepare for a single game, WVU clearly made the most out of their time as they had everything running smooth last night. However, Clemson looked good as well right up until the strip fumble, things were down hill from there. Mentally I think Clemson was done after that, just never recovered. Until then they were marching the ball at will and their offense was clicking just as good if not better than WVU's. They were clearly not the same after that play, hats off to the Mountaineers though for putting them away.

Looks bad for Clemson, looks bad for the ACC but neither are as bad as it seems right now. People are dogging pretty hard and rightfully so, but top to bottom the ACC is still a much better conference than Big East. WVU underperformed all year but looked impressive last night, I'm sure the month to prepare had a lot to do with it. FSU was predicted by some as a national title contender this year, Georgia Tech is decent, VT will continue to be fairly solid, ACC will still be the ACC but not as horrendous as they are being made out to be. Far from the SEC but also far from Conference USA.

Not sure I agree with that, you can read a little as to why in my post above.

Yeah, I may have over reached a little with that comment.

Clemson won their conference, they would go to the Orange Bowl no matter what. West Virginia won the Big East same thing for all the conferences. Clemson had a very good year up to last nite. Not a great year.

Clemson started well, but lost 4 of thei last 6 games. West Virginia was impressive on the offensive side, in case someone didn't notice.

This game kind of shows the beauty of College Football: You never know what you will get.

Clemson has a convincing win over Auburn this year in out of conference.

West Virginia's one big step out of conference was to host LSU but lost 47-21.

No way to see this blowout except as someone noted: With the fumble at the goal line all the life fell out of Clemson.

Congrats to WVU who were the better team last night by far.

BREAKING NEWS: WVU just scored again.

I don't believe that there's much difference between the two.

The ACC gets the love because of FSU and Miami. Not currently that good but easily the two most prestigious schools in either conference.

BCS record

Big East 8-7

ACC -2-14

It's really stunning to me that the ACC has been that bad. I guess I just stopped paying attention when Florida State found themselves unable to make it year after year.

Thanks Coach! So maybe I didn't over reach with my earlier comment.

VOR looks like you are right on Target. WVU has more BCS wins than the ACC. WVU has 3 BCS wins.

That not a top to bottom assessment.
