Travis Wood for Sean Marshall?

Featured Replies

There's a difference between "prospects" and career minor leaguers. It will be the later. You can throw out all the ridiculous scenarios you want, if Wood is the top "asset" they're giving up, which he is, it's a great deal for the Reds.

That deal I posted would be a horrible deal for the Reds.

^Because they would have 2 guys in the rotation that are likely to give up 5 runs an outing...:idunno:

What 2 out of this group? Cueto, Latos, Arroyo, Leake and Wood?

Well, that's not the deal, so it has no bearing on this. Corcino or Hamilton would be the best piece to those deals. Like I said, when Wood is the best piece you're giving up for a guy of Marshall's talent, it's a GREAT deal for the Reds.

The Reds weren't willing to include either of those guys in deals for Gio, Shields or Latos, but you think they'd include them for a reliever?

Arroyo and Wood. With Chapman or even Bailey in the rotation it helps Bronson tremendously.

How so? What numbers do you have to back that up?

It's my opinion. Are we not allowed to form those now?

Arroyo is a whiffle-ball pitcher who thrives on keeping hitters off-balance. I'm of the belief sandwiching him between two fireballers (Latos & Chapman) will allow him to be way more effective than if he's out there with the likes of Leake and Wood surrounding him. JMO.

In the same game that holds true. However, that's just not the case the next day.

I like the move, go get the guy that can help you win now instead of waiting for a guy with average upside at best.

I think the Reds will regret this deal.

Sounds stupid to me.

Maybe the Cubs are sending some cash in the deal.

Sounds stupid to me.

I don't see why it would be stupid?

I think Walt thinks 2012 is the Reds year and making his move.

I don't think there's ever a move we are going to be 100% happy with. Everything comes with a tradeoff. You just have to hang on and hope it works out. I'm glad to see them making moves, though.
