If the Reds are able to sign Marshall to an extended contract before the deal I could live with it, but to trade a promising young lefty, and 2 minor leaguers for a setup man for one year isn't a smart move IMO.

If the trade happens he may very end up the closer, but I think the Reds will still pursue Cordero even if they make the trade.
December 21, 201114 yr I really like Marshall and he could work as the closer. But this does sound like a lot to give up for him. If the reds are saying he is their closer, then they can justify it by saying they save perhaps $5M a year by having him as the closer versus siging one of the guys out on the market.
