OK the 2011 season has been over for 2 days now. Let's talk 2012.

 

What match-ups would you like to see next year.

 

Mine

 

Trinity v Highlands in a real game. The 2 premier programs in the state. It needs to happen.

 

Trinity v. Ballard. This is to much of a natural rivalry for it not to happen. The two schools are very close geographically. There is no logical reason for this game not to happen.

I would like to see Beechwood play a small school team from across the river. Yes we scrimmaged Goshen this year and it was a blood letting and it was a scrimmage. Who is a small school power from across the river?

 

Beechwood and Hazard could be fun but that could happen in the playoffs perhaps.

ETA: I didn't say Trinity v Highlands 'cause I knew what the outcome would be. The ones I listed, I did so because I'm not sure who would win those. Trinity v Highlands in 2013 might be interesting...

Highlands/Trinty definitely.

 

I'd be interested in BG/Highlands matchup. I think Highlands would be the favorite next year and would likely beat BG but I'd like to see it nonetheless. From what I was told last Saturday the current sophomore class has the potential to be as good as this year's senior class so I'd rather see this game in 2013 when BG would likely have a better chance to make it a game. Knowing firsthand how great Highlands current sophomore class is makes Highlands the favorite in 2013 as well but if you are going to play Highlands and you aren't Trinity you better bring your best team to that game.

 

LexCath/Highlands. I think LexCath will be better prepared next year. We very well may see this game in the state semis again.

 

I'll get to see Boyle/Highlands and Boyle/LexCath and that will suit me fine. I am looking forward to visiting Highlands for the first time in Week 0.

I have heard some grumblings that Highlands will be playing Scott County next year. Not sure how true that is, but this would be a matchup of 2 teams that appeared in this years finals.

This years sophs last years frosh are the best frosh I have ever seen at HHS. This is in the 30-35yrs I have been going to HHS games..
